Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Le Lodge Brit Hotel? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street – Rue Paul Eluard – which honestly feels like a bit of a hidden gem once you find it. I mean, you’re still in Strasbourg proper, but there’s something refreshing about stepping away from the tourist crush around the cathedral area. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some hotels do, but when you walk through those doors, you immediately get why it earned its four stars. The lobby has this warm, almost living room-like feel – none of that sterile marble nonsense you sometimes get with chain hotels.

What really won me over though was how the staff seemed to actually know the city. When I asked about getting to the Zenith (which, by the way, is super close if you’re catching a concert), the front desk guy didn’t just point vaguely northeast – he told me about the tram connection and mentioned which bars stay open late afterward. The rooms are comfortable without being flashy, and honestly, the beds are exactly what you want after a day wandering around Petite France or dealing with European Museum crowds. I stayed on the third floor and it was pleasantly quiet, though I suspect the street-facing rooms might catch a bit more noise during morning commute hours. The bathroom was one of those satisfying modern updates – good water pressure, plenty of hot water, and enough counter space that you don’t have to play Tetris with your toiletries.

Here’s the thing about this place that really sets it apart: it feels like it’s designed for people who want to actually experience Strasbourg, not just Instagram it. You’re a quick tram ride from the historic center, but you’re also positioned perfectly if you want to explore some of the newer districts or need easy access to the train station for day trips to Colmar or even across the border to Germany. The breakfast spread (yeah, I splurged one morning) was solid – proper French pastries, not the sad continental breakfast situation you sometimes encounter. And there’s something to be said for checking into a hotel where the staff doesn’t look slightly pained when you ask questions in English. The whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like they’ve figured out how to be professional without being stuffy, comfortable without being boring. If you’re the type who wants to drop your bags somewhere reliable and then go get lost in a new city, this is your spot.

Reviews

  • Very good – Angela from United Kingdom – 19 May 2025 (8/10)

Reception staff really helpful and friendly. Great location with a tram stop right outside to get into strassbourg. Room good size and bed really comfy

  • Nice Stay , Good choice – Erjona from Albania – 4 May 2025 (9/10)

The hotel had a lovely lobby area and a great location. Our room was spacious and generally comfortable and clean.

What could be improved: However, the room was meant for four people, and one of the beds—a portable one—was not comfortable at all for the two guests who had to sleep on it.

  • Superb – Stefan from Switzerland – 22 April 2025 (9/10)

    Very comfortable bed, spacious room

  • Very convenient and nice amenities. – Stamatios from Greece – 16 January 2025 (9/10)

The beds are comfortable and the common area is very cozy and welcome. Breakfast was also delicious with many choices. Location is perfect. Lockers in the room very convenient.

What could be improved: The loud music sometimes in the common area, the food menu is a bit limited.

  • Very good – Emilie from Czech Republic – 15 January 2025 (8/10)

Location next to highway which was convenient for our travels.
It is close to a supermarket with restaurants
    Friendly personnel

What could be improved: Room is on the smaller side but that was expected

  • Good – James from United States – 2 January 2025 (7/10)

Staff was very friendly and responsive. The hotel is also very close to a tram stop.

What could be improved: The bathrooms have clear doors which is just odd and makes arrangements uncomfortable if you're sharing a room with friends or children.

  • Superb – Joannes from Switzerland – 21 December 2024 (9/10)

    Convenient location

  • The Australians. Perfect little gem for our 2 night stay. We will be back . – Diane from Australia – 17 December 2024 (9/10)

Great location, Rooms were clean & comfortable. We had breakfast which was fresh & delicious.
The tram was right outside the hotel was a convenient way to get around.
Staff were also very friendly & helpful.

What could be improved: Nothing that comes to mind.

  • Superb – James from Italy – 29 November 2024 (9/10)

Phenomenal stay. Close to the tram.

  • A no-fuss stay for the family – Giovanni from Netherlands – 23 October 2024 (9/10)

    – The location: it's next to a tram station & stores and restaurants also in proximity.
    – The room: clean, cozy, soundproofed & we enjoyed the sunset view.

And kudos for the reception, very precise & articulate!

What could be improved: Toilet: the sliding door is tricky when you’re done using the toilet.
Bathroom: might be too small for an adult.

We had a slightly uncomfortable situation while walking toward Poteries for dinner, lucky for us the kids weren't bothered (not even noticed). Not the fault of the hotel, of course, just a little heads-up.
