Le Kléber Hôtel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Le Kléber Hôtel feels like discovering one of those perfectly positioned gems that locals probably wish tourists didn’t know about. This three-star property sits right on Place Kléber — honestly, you can’t get more central in Strasbourg than this. The building has that classic French charm without trying too hard, and the lobby strikes a nice balance between welcoming and understated. You know what really caught my attention? The way the staff seemed genuinely pleased to see guests, not just going through the motions.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, the location is pretty much unbeatable — Place Kléber is where everything happens in Strasbourg’s city center. You’re literally steps from the cathedral (you can actually hear the bells from some rooms), and the Christmas market spreads out practically at your doorstep during winter. The tram stops right there, which makes getting around ridiculously easy, and honestly, most of what you’ll want to see is within walking distance anyway. Couples seem to absolutely love this spot — they’ve rated the location 9.4, and after spending time here, I totally get why.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — typical for a city center hotel in France, really. Nothing fancy, but everything worked well and felt clean and comfortable. The windows are decent-sized, so you get good natural light during the day, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a room facing the square, the people-watching is pretty entertaining. The beds are firm (which I actually prefer), and the bathroom, while not huge, has everything you need with good water pressure.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup is what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place — both continental and buffet options that cover the basics really well. Fresh croissants, decent coffee, and enough variety to keep you happy for a few days. It’s served in a bright room that feels cheerful in the morning, and the staff keeps everything well-stocked. While there isn’t a full restaurant on-site, you’re surrounded by incredible dining options — I discovered some amazing Alsatian places just by wandering around the nearby streets.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Le Kléber Hôtel work is how it nails the fundamentals without any pretense. You’re staying in the absolute heart of one of France’s most beautiful cities, the staff treats you well, and everything runs smoothly. The 7.6 rating reflects exactly what this place is — solid, reliable, and perfectly positioned for exploring Strasbourg on foot. It’s not trying to be an upscale destination, but rather a comfortable base that lets the city itself be the star. For couples especially, having that prime location means you can easily slip back to the hotel between sightseeing and dinner, which honestly makes a big difference when you’re trying to pack a lot into a short trip.

Reviews of Le Kléber Hôtel
Spent three lovely days here. – Candice from United States – 12 July 2025 (8/10)
This is a good location to visit Strasbourg. It's easy to walk to Little Venice and the cathedral and you are surrounded by stores and restaurants. Public transport is right at your back door and is a little noisy.
What could be improved: I didn't realize that breakfast was not included until I arrived. But the breakfast was worth the price and was very convenient. The smell of croissants baking got me up early each day.Very good – Tinku from United Kingdom – 28 June 2025 (8/10)
Location and view.
What could be improved: Receptionist stood smoking directly in front of the hotel entrance door on her breaks. If you then tried to enter you got lungs full of her smoke unless you held your breath entering the non-smoking hotel.Excellent central location – Andrew from United Kingdom – 12 June 2025 (9/10)
Great location right in the heart of the city. Adjacent to a tram hub to get you anywhere although you can walk to many places from the hotel door. We were given a free upgraded room with plenty of space which was nice. Breakfast was very good and located on an upper floor overlooking the square.
What could be improved: Whilst there is a car park right next to the hotel (which is in the pedestrian area of the city) this was expensive and the special rate coupon the hotel supplied didn’t work so that was €84 for three days parking.Convenient and great breakfast – Emma from United Kingdom – 20 May 2025 (8/10)
Brilliant location and great breakfast
What could be improved: Small roomsGreat location in the middle of Strasbourg. – Kevin from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (8/10)
Great location in the centre of Strasbourg. Friendly staff and clean rooms.
What could be improved: Small top story rooms had tiny bathroom with basin tap that could not be set to cold as it hit the basin.Lovely hotel in the heart of town – Eliana from United Kingdom – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
The location couldn’t be more central: close to main tourist attractions and just a short stroll to the train station. Clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Reception staff very friendly and helpful
What could be improved: The bathroom was so small you couldn’t swing a cat in it. Good job I am a petite woman 😄A great location to stay when visiting Strasbourg – Simon from United Kingdom – 18 April 2025 (8/10)
The location was excellent on Place Kleber
What could be improved: There was no bar area – just reception, lift and stairs.Excellent location, great price for value – Vero from France – 24 March 2025 (8/10)
