Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on Rue du 22 Novembre, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building looks pretty standard from the street, and climbing up to the second floor (no elevator, by the way), I was wondering if I’d made the right choice. But then you step inside Le Kléber, and it actually hits you how smart this whole setup is.

The apartment – because that’s really what this is, not your typical hotel room – sits right in the thick of things without being touristy about it. You know how Place Kléber gets absolutely packed during Christmas market season? Well, you’re literally a two-minute walk away, but somehow the street stays relatively quiet. I mean, you’ll hear some evening chatter from people heading to dinner, but nothing that kept me up. The windows face the courtyard side mostly, which helps. What really surprised me was how the place manages to feel both central and residential – you’ve got locals doing their grocery shopping right downstairs, but then you turn the corner and boom, you’re at the cathedral.

The space itself has that classic Strasbourg apartment vibe – high ceilings, decent-sized rooms, and honestly, way more character than most chain hotels. The kitchen actually works if you want to grab stuff from the morning market (there’s a good one near Place du Marché-aux-Poissons, maybe a five-minute walk). I appreciated having real mugs instead of those tiny hotel coffee cups, you know? The bathroom’s modern enough, good shower pressure, though the hot water takes a minute to kick in – typical old building thing. What I really loved was having actual living space to spread out after walking around the city all day. You can tell someone put thought into making this feel like a proper home base rather than just somewhere to crash.

The location thing is sort of perfect if you actually want to experience Strasbourg instead of just seeing it. Sure, you’re steps from all the major sights – Petite France is maybe a ten-minute walk, the European Quarter’s totally doable if you’re here on business – but you’re also positioned where you can duck into real neighborhood spots. There’s this little wine bar around the corner that I never would’ve found staying in the hotel district. And honestly, for the price point and that 8.4 rating, it makes sense. You’re getting the bones of a solid apartment in the exact right spot, without paying for fancy lobby marble you don’t need anyway. Just know you’re trading hotel services for authenticity – which, if you’re the type to book a place called Le Kléber in the first place, is probably exactly what you want.

  L'appartamento è pulito, carino, affaccia sulla galleria Lafayette, in posizione centrale, 5 minuti a piedi dalla cattedrale, zona tranquilla, intorno ci sono diversi locali dove pranzare/cenare, sotto casa diverse pasticcerie dove fare colazione, un supermercato vicinissimo, va bene per 4 persone avendo due camere da letto ma un solo bagno, quindi sconsigliato per 6 persone.
  
  What could be improved: Difficoltà nel buttare la spazzatura, il termosifone di una camera da letto non è partito e l'altro in parte, ma soprattutto la presa e consegna delle chiavi che avviene in una cassettina, posta in una lavanderia che però non fa servizio 24 ore su 24, quindi avendo il volo alle 8 di mattina, abbiamo dovuto lasciare le chiavi la sera entro le 21 e quindi non siamo potuti uscire l'ultima sera, questo è un punto sicuramente migliorabile.

  What could be improved: Ménage précédent incomplet : on a ouvert le canapé du salon et c'était très sale dessous (pot de yaourts vides, bcp de poussière…) + vaisselle de cuisine pas nette + tâches sur les portes
