Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le Carré des fleurs? The name had me expecting some cutesy flower-themed place, but honestly, this little apartment hotel on Rue des Combattants africains is way more sophisticated than that. I mean, it’s tucked into this quiet residential street in the Neudorf area – and before you worry about being stuck in the suburbs, you’re actually perfectly positioned. The tram stops at Krimmeri-Meinau are close enough that you can be sipping wine in Petite France within fifteen minutes, but far enough from the tourist madness that you’ll actually get some sleep.
The apartment itself (number 37, if you’re keeping track) feels like staying at a friend’s place – assuming your friend has really good taste and keeps everything impossibly clean. It’s that kind of Strasbourg charm where modern updates blend with the building’s character without trying too hard. The kitchen actually works, which… let’s be real, isn’t always a given with apartment rentals. I found myself grabbing fresh bread from the boulangerie down the street most mornings – there’s something about having that option that just makes a trip feel more authentic. The bed situation is solid too, none of that saggy mattress nonsense you sometimes get with smaller properties. And the shower pressure? Thank god, because after walking all over Strasbourg’s cobblestones, you really need it.
What really sells this place though is how it sits in the neighborhood. Rue des Combattants africains isn’t flashy – it’s just genuinely Strasbourg, you know? You’ve got families heading to work, students cycling past, the occasional dog walker. It’s the kind of street where you feel like you’re actually experiencing the city rather than just visiting it. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving (aren’t French cities fun that way?), but the public transport connections more than make up for it. That 9.3 rating isn’t some fluke either – the attention to detail shows in everything from how quickly they respond to messages to the way the place actually looks like the photos. I’ve stayed in plenty of 3-star spots that felt tired or rushed, but this one genuinely cares about the experience. It’s perfect for couples who want their own space but don’t need a concierge, or honestly, anyone who appreciates when a place just… works without any drama.
Hotels in Strasbourg offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian charm, with many featuring regional wine concierge services and traditional half-timbered architecture to enhance the authentic Franco-German cultural experience.

Great! – Jane from New Zealand – 2 August 2024 (9/10)
Really great accommodation only 10-15 minutes walk from the old part of town. Easy to catch the tram too. We appreciated being able to sit outside (although there were loads of mosquitos due to the rain and heat). Bed very comfort. A great Ethiopian restaurant nearby along with other small grocery stores and restaurants. Would stay again. The lady who gave us our key was so lovely and very patient with us as we arrived late and took a while to park our car etc. She was adorable and I hope she gets a big payment from the owner!
What could be improved: Few extras provided. We had to buy laundry powder to do our laundry. The place is a bit scuffed and worn in parts. But we didn't expect much given the reasonable price charged.Lived up to all expectations – Jette from Denmark – 13 July 2024 (10/10)
Lovely appartment – comfortable beds, cute garden and excellent location, with walking distance to city center 🙂

The location was perfect, there was a lot of kitchen tools if you decide to cook. I was very pleased to find olive oil and a set of spices. The beds were super comfortable, linens were high quality. Very warm and inviting host. Very clean and quiet. The wi-fi works fine.

Great location with a short walk to the centrum.(less than 20 minutes with kids in tow) Perfect for kids. The host was easy to contact. Parking was in a covered garage directly under the building for €5/night. The apartment location was quiet and had black out shades as well. Very clean and perfect for a family of 4!
