Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Le 52 Zix? It’s tucked away on Rue du Fossé-des-Tanneurs – which honestly sounds way fancier than “Tanners’ Ditch Street” – but the location is actually brilliant. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Petite France, and when I say heart, I’m talking about being able to hear the Ill River from your window and watching tourists with their cameras trying to get that perfect half-timbered house shot while you’re sipping coffee in your pajamas.

The studio itself is what the French do really well – small but smartly designed. It’s not going to win any space awards, but everything you need is there, and honestly, who spends much time in their room when you’re steps away from those incredible medieval streets? The check-in was smooth enough, though I’d recommend arriving during daylight hours because the street numbers can be tricky to spot after dark (learned that one the hard way). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – you get that gentle water sound from the canals, but none of the late-night party noise that can plague some city center spots. Well, except for the occasional group of tourists who’ve discovered the wine bars nearby, but that usually dies down by 11.

Here’s the thing about staying right in Petite France – you’re going to pay a bit more, but you’re also going to save a fortune on transportation and actually experience Strasbourg like locals do. I could walk to the cathedral in about ten minutes (through those gorgeous winding streets that GPS always seems to get confused about), and the covered bridges are practically your backyard. The morning bakery run becomes this lovely ritual when you can just pop down to the boulangerie on Rue des Moulins without having to figure out tram schedules. Plus, and this is something you don’t realize until you’re there, the whole area has this incredible golden light in the late afternoon that makes even your terrible phone photos look like postcards. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and the location really is unbeatable for exploring the old town on foot. Just pack light because those medieval staircases weren’t designed with modern luggage in mind.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Strasbourg through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich Franco-German heritage.

Reviews

  • Fab stay here, couldn't have wished for a better location, excellent eateries within 5 mins walk – Judy from United Kingdom – 15 June 2024 (9/10)

Brilliant location, very central and lovely sunny, morning view from windows. Comfy bed and good decor. Two excellent bistros – L'Oignons and La Corde on doorstep.

What could be improved: Couldn't get the wifi to work and was drain smell in kitchen/fridge but would still recommend.

  • Memorable – Nicholas from United Kingdom – 23 October 2024 (10/10)

    All that we needed

What could be improved: Microwave not easily accessible.

  • Trevlig stad. – Emanuel from Sweden – 14 June 2025 (9/10)

  • Séjour mémorable – Serge from Canada – 11 May 2025 (9/10)

  • Un bon plan pour visiter Strasbourg – Florence from France – 1 May 2025 (9/10)

  • Strasbourg Petite France – Mayly from France – 13 February 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Rien à signaler.

  • Superb – Laure from France – 24 January 2025 (9/10)

  • Very good – François from France – 29 November 2024 (8/10)

    Emplacement très apprécié

  • Very good – Tino from Germany – 1 May 2024 (8/10)

    Check in und out unkompliziert.

    Hübsches Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung.

What could be improved: Innenliegendes Bad ohne aktive Lüftung.
Badewanne nur als Dusche nutzbar. Kleiderhaken im Flurbereich wären gut.

  • Geweldig! – Paul from Netherlands – 18 June 2025 (9/10)

Geweldige locatie. Appartement heeft alle faciliteiten die je wenst.
