So I stumbled across Le 4K during one of those “we need a place to crash in Strasbourg” moments, and honestly? It turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t expect from a booking made at 11 PM. The name sounds a bit quirky – I mean, “Le 4K” makes you think of TVs or something – but it’s actually just sitting there at 4 Quai Kléber, right along the water. And when they say “vue dégagée,” they’re not kidding around. You get these really nice, unobstructed views that make you want to linger by the window with your morning coffee instead of rushing out to see the cathedral.

The location is honestly what sold me on coming back. You know how some places claim they’re “close to everything” but then you’re schlepping your luggage for twenty minutes? Not here. The train station is literally a ten-minute walk – I timed it because I’m neurotic like that – and it’s a pleasant stroll through some of Strasbourg’s prettier streets, not some industrial wasteland. Plus, you’re right in that sweet spot where you can walk to Petite France in one direction or hit up the main shopping areas in the other. The air conditioning actually works too, which might sound basic but you’d be surprised how many European hotels phone that in. During those sticky August evenings when Strasbourg gets unexpectedly muggy, you’ll appreciate it.

What I really liked was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile. It’s got that comfortable, slightly worn-around-the-edges vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-loved apartment rather than a generic hotel room. The staff seems to actually know the neighborhood – when I asked about where to grab dinner that wasn’t tourist-trap expensive, the guy at the front desk sent me to this little winstub tucked away on a side street that I never would’ve found otherwise. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and sometimes you can hear the trams rumbling by in the early morning, but that’s just Strasbourg being Strasbourg. For what you pay and where you are, it’s pretty solid. I’d definitely book it again, especially if I wanted to explore the city on foot without feeling like I was staying in some soulless chain hotel.

  What could be improved: 1 The distance from the station to the apartament is the double of announced.
  2 The building's door coded didn’t work and we had to wait almost thirty minutes to enter until someone let us in. The owner is aware of the problem, but did nothing.
  3 None of the 3 elevators were working and we had to take the stairs, at night, tired from the trip, my elderly mother and I, to the third floor, which is equivalent to six floors.
  4 When we got to the room, the TV had no signal and once again the owner did nothing.
  5 For four days and two people , he left only a roll and a half of toilet paper, with no reposition.
  6 Dusty disposal/heater causing a lot of allergies.
  7 Very old towels.
  8 There is no luggage rack or place to put the suitcase.
  9 the owner asked us to clean the apartament but cleaning service is always provided by the host and not by the guest

  What could be improved: Following an incident on the first day that I was promised swift resolution and reimbursement for (in writing), I did not receive nor the former or the latter, making my stay one of the worst experiences I have encountered.
  
  Short summary:
  
  We checked in, got the keys, entered the room and sat down on the bed. Immediately we noticed there was something wrong as the bed was not stable at all and nearly collapsed as soon as we sat down. We flipped over the mattresses and discovered that the bed is already completely broken and destroyed. We couldn't sleep on it.
  
  After a lengthy discussion with both booking.com and the customer service of the apartment they promised that they will replace the bed asap and reimburse us. The workers eventually showed up a day later than promised at 10 pm in the evening. They brought new mattresses and parts for a new bed which they didn't build. Also, they didn't take the remains of the old one, which meant that we could barely move in the 20-25m2 apartment during our whole stay.
  They promised they will come back the next day to take the old bed and put together the new one. They didn't…
  
  In the end, we spent 4 nights without a bed sleeping only on mattresses, whilst barely being able to move around (eg. Enter the bathroom) because of the base of the old bed. I feel like paying 375 euros for 4 nights for a room with no bed, being disturbed by workers after 10 pm, yet still not being able to fix the problem is simply unacceptable.
  
  The worst part is that I was in constant contact with their customer support, and I have written proof of them apologizing and stating that we will be reimbursed. This was about a month ago and nothing happened. I wrote to them multiple times since then and they simply do not answer. I have to say, the worst part is the shameless lying and ignoring.
  
  I never ever wrote a bad review in my entire life. But this..

  What could be improved: Man weiß nicht wie man rein kommt. Die Haupt Tür unten kriegt man mit keinem code auf. Die schlüsselbox Nummer war eine ganz andere als angegeben. Wir mussten alle Schlüsselboxen ausprobieren. Wir hatten mit jemandem aus der Hotline gesprochen. Aber die konnte uns auch nicht sehr weiterhelfen.
  
  
  Am nächsten Morgen klopfte auch die Putzfrau die uns um 10 Uhr raus schmeißen wollte. Sie wusste wohl nicht, dass wir noch eine weitere Nacht gebucht hatten.

  What could be improved: Forse sostituirei la libreria con un piccolo armadio per poter tenere meglio gli abiti e i bagagli e dare un'impressione di maggior ordine, ma va benissimo anche così. Inoltre, per il mio modo di cucinare, forse inserirei un microonde con grill al posto del microonde semplice in modo da poter preparare anche pietanze croccanti al forno, ma anche qui l'angolo cottura è già ben dotato di ciò che può servire in un breve soggiorno.

  Très bon logement, propreté impeccable, équipement kitchenette parfaitement fonctionnel. La climatisation est très agréable en canicule. Bien que le fonctionnement échange par mail et boite à clés soit fonctionnel, pouvoir échanger avec un humain m'aurais peut être permis d'avoir les clés de l'escalier plus tôt.
  
  What could be improved: Ajouter la clés de l'escalier au trousseau de clés du logement, de sorte à pouvoir également se promener dans le parc de l'immeuble.
