Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Lagrange Apart’Hotel on Boulevard Wilson? It’s got this perfect sweet spot location that most tourists completely miss. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the cathedral and Petite France, but you’re tucked away on this tree-lined boulevard where actual Strasbourg residents live and work. The tram stops right outside – and I’m talking about the modern line that’ll zip you straight to the European Parliament if that’s your thing.

The apart’hotel concept really works here, honestly. These aren’t cramped hotel rooms with a sad mini-fridge shoved in the corner. We’re talking proper studio and one-bedroom setups with real kitchens – like, you can actually cook dinner if you want to save some euros or just got tired of tarte flambée every night (though let’s be real, that never really happens). The staff at check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no fake enthusiasm, just helpful people who knew their neighborhood. They pointed me toward the Saturday market on Place du Marché aux Poissons – walking distance, naturally – and mentioned the little bakery two blocks down that opens ridiculously early if you’re catching morning trains.

What I appreciated most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being on a main boulevard. The double-glazed windows actually work, which isn’t always a given in European cities. The apartment I stayed in had this oddly satisfying fully-equipped kitchen situation – proper cookware, decent-sized fridge, even a dishwasher. Parking can be a bit of a dance if you’re driving (street parking fills up fast, especially during parliamentary sessions), but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that’s not terrible price-wise. The neighborhood comes alive during lunch hours with office workers from the nearby EU buildings, so the local restaurants are legit – not tourist traps – and the evening crowd is mostly locals heading home or students from the university. It’s that authentic slice of Strasbourg life you don’t always get when you’re staying right in the historic center where everything closes at 9 PM and feels like a museum after dark.

Reviews

  • Great trip in lovely city of Strasbourg – Lesley from United Kingdom – 24 July 2025 (9/10)

Very close to train station and only 10-15 min walk to main attractions . The staff were super friendly and the room was great with having the facilities to cook means we saved money on breakfast as we made our own ! Swimming pool nice but small and was busy with a family that acted like they owned it so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked!

What could be improved: Selfish family in pool !!

  • Superb – Jennifer from United States – 22 July 2025 (9/10)

The reception desk staff were so friendly and helpful. One of the staff gave us recommendations on where to eat, and they all were great places to eat.

What could be improved: The after-hours door was hard to get open, the night watchman had to help us both nights

  • Lovely! Recommend, it’s great value for money – Alison from United Kingdom – 17 July 2025 (8/10)

Excellent large room with all that was needed. Very friendly and welcoming. Very clean and great location.

  • Very good – Christopher from Belgium – 10 July 2025 (8/10)

Great location, good parking. Spacious apartment with well equipped kitchen (the only thing missing was basics like oil, salt, pepper, even a sponge and dish liquid).

What could be improved: Décor a little dated (but fine)

  • Superb – Labhaoise from Ireland – 3 July 2025 (9/10)

Great location, spacious rooms with good facilities, friendly and very helpful staff

  • Very good – Richard from United States – 25 June 2025 (8/10)

    location

What could be improved: breakfast was limited, wish we had gone out

  • Very good – Karolina from Sweden – 23 June 2025 (8/10)

Great located hotel (close to railway station and city centre), good standard related to the price. We did not have breakfast. Nice staff, nice with a pool. It was clean!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Superb – Michael from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (9/10)

Convenient for train station and city centre. Nice pool. Well equipped kitchenette in lying dishwasher.

What could be improved: They quite fairly want guests to wash up crockery etc. provided in kitchenette but provided nothing to do that with. Not even a token dishwasher tablet.

  • Superb – Andras from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

The room was a good size, separate bathroom and toilet, a kitchen area. Very near the central train station, good connection to public transport and easy walking distance from centre. The breakfast was very good at the hotel, but there are many bakeries in the city with exceptional breakfast options.

What could be improved: Not much to do with this, but sleeping with the windows open you can hear the trains

  • Superb – Erik from United Kingdom – 13 May 2025 (9/10)

    Location, room had cooking facilities.
    7 minutes from the station
    10 minutes from the centre
Swimming pool was a nice surprise.

    What could be improved: N/A
