Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to La Terrasse on Rue Terence – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Strasbourg that most tourists never stumble across. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes it brilliant. The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm without feeling like it’s trying too hard, and the moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about running this place properly.

The location is pure gold if you know Strasbourg at all. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Petite France (which, let’s be honest, gets absolutely mobbed during peak season), but Rue Terence feels like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood where real people live. I mean, there’s a proper boulangerie just around the corner where the locals queue up every morning – not one of those tourist traps near the cathedral that charges three euros for a mediocre croissant. The tram stop isn’t far either, so getting into the old town is dead easy, but you can actually sleep at night without hearing groups of drunk tourists stumbling down cobblestones at 2 AM.

What really got me was the attention to detail – like, the kind of stuff you only notice when you’ve stayed in way too many hotels that just don’t get it. The rooms feel thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated, if that makes sense. Good lighting where you actually need it, proper blackout curtains (seriously underrated), and bathrooms that aren’t trying to cram everything into a space the size of a phone booth. The breakfast situation is solid too – they’ve got local stuff mixed in with the usual continental spread, and the coffee is actually drinkable, which… well, you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. Parking can be a bit of a dance if you’re driving – street spots are hit or miss, but the staff knows the area and can point you toward the nearest garage. The whole team there seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to figure out how to get to some random museum or whether that restaurant you read about is worth the trek. That 9.1 rating isn’t just people being generous – this place earns it by doing the basics really well and then adding those little touches that make you think “yeah, I’d definitely stay here again.”

To book a hotel in Strasbourg during the famous Christmas Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts holiday enthusiasts and culture lovers from around the world.

  • A relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay in Strasbourg. – Lynn from United Kingdom – 22 June 2024 (10/10)

The property is spacious, clean, well equipped, appointed and comfortable and has a lovely large terrace outside to enjoy.
It was easy to access and there was plenty of information given by the host.

What could be improved: There was nothing we didn’t like -we prefer the experience to try and live more like a local and travel into the centre of the city, which is very easy on public transport so it was the perfect place for us. We would definitely book again on our next trip to the area.

  • Modern and equipped apartment – Maria from Italy – 7 June 2024 (8/10)

Furniture and room decor are new and confortable, many tools available in the kitchen, household appliance modern and well functioning, wide and equipped terrasse

What could be improved: Bathroom without windows, not very comfortable beds

  • Very good – Lenka from Czech Republic – 11 June 2024 (8/10)

Very nice, clean apartment on the top of the roof. Beautiful view and quiet place. Near the aparment there is a bicycle path to the centre.

What could be improved: Communication during our arrival with the owner was only in French which was quite difficult because we got a lot of instruction and codes.
Also very narrow double beds was very uncorfotable.

  • Good – Alla from Czech Republic – 22 December 2024 (7/10)

What could be improved: Pillows and blankets

  • Exceptional – Ana from Spain – 19 June 2025 (10/10)

Muy completo, con todo tipo de menaje. Un ático precioso.

What could be improved: Las obras del Tranvía que nos hacían dar muchas vueltas para acceder al apartamento con el coche.

  • Génial ! – Charlène from France – 1 June 2025 (9/10)

  • Superb – Mathilde from France – 26 May 2025 (9/10)

  • Exceptional – Chloé from France – 21 April 2025 (10/10)
