Honestly, when you first walk up to this place on Place de la Cathédrale, you sort of can’t believe your luck – I mean, you’re literally staring up at one of Europe’s most incredible Gothic cathedrals from your front door. The apartment sits right there at number 10, and I’m not exaggerating when I say the views are ridiculous. You know those Instagram shots that look too good to be real? Well, this is where they come from.

The thing about staying right on the cathedral square is that you get this amazing rhythm to your days. Early morning, before the tour groups arrive, it’s almost mystical – just locals heading to work and maybe a few joggers. But honestly, don’t expect to sleep in if you’re here during summer because the bells start their thing pretty early, and by 9 AM the square fills up with visitors. Some people might find that annoying, but I actually loved being part of the whole scene. You’ll grab your coffee and just watch the city wake up from what feels like the best seats in the house.

Inside, the apartment definitely lives up to its four-star rating – everything’s been done with taste, though it’s not trying too hard to be fancy. The windows are the real star here (obviously), but the space itself is comfortable and well thought out. You can actually cook if you want to, which is great because Strasbourg’s markets are incredible, especially the one over on Place du Marché aux Poissons. Parking’s a bit of a situation – I mean, you’re in the heart of old Strasbourg, so you’ll probably want to use one of the nearby garages rather than circling the square hoping for a miracle.

What really gets me about this location is how it puts you right in the middle of everything without feeling touristy in your actual living space. Walk five minutes toward Rue des Grandes Arcades and you’re in shopping heaven, or head the other way toward Petite France and you’re wandering those perfect canal-side streets. The tram stops right there too, so getting out to places like the European Parliament or even into Germany is surprisingly easy.

The 8.6 rating makes total sense – it’s the kind of place that delivers on the big promise (those cathedral views) while also handling the little details well. I stayed here during late spring, and honestly, sitting by those windows in the evening with a bottle of Alsatian wine, watching the cathedral light up… it’s pretty much peak European travel right there. Sure, you’ll pay a bit more for this location, but some experiences are worth it, you know?

  I had (with my family) a wonderful 5-day stay at La Place de la Cathédrale – Superbe appt face à la Cathédrale. The location is truly exceptional—right in the heart of Strasbourg, with stunning views of the cathedral and easy access to restaurants, shops, and public transport. The apartment itself is spacious, immaculately clean, well-organized, and fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

  Die Lage ist traumhaft schön. Es ist wohl die beste Lage, die man sich in Straßburg wünschen kann.
  Sie gehört zu den schönsten Ferienwohnungen, die wir bislang hatten !
  
  What could be improved: Da die Wohnung zentral liegt ist natürlich mit Straßenlärm zu rechnen. Das muss man mit einplanen.
  Da das Haus unter Denkmalschutz steht, sind Schallschutzmaßnahmen mit entsprechenden Fenstern teilweise gar nicht möglich.

  Amplio pero por el precio que cuesta podria estar mas limpio y mejor. Solo dos botellines de jabon para cuatro dias. Y un calentador pequeño para 4 pax. El ultimo se ducha con agua fria.
