Hotel Description

You know what’s funny about La Nuée Bleue? The name means “blue cloud” but honestly, when you first walk up to 4 Impasse de la Corneille, you might wonder if you’re in the right place. It’s tucked away in this narrow little passage that feels almost hidden from the main tourist drag – which, after staying there, I realized is actually perfect. You’re on the fourth floor (and yes, there’s an elevator, thank god), but once you’re up there, it’s like this quiet bubble above all the Strasbourg chaos below.

The thing that got me about this place is how it manages to feel both typically Alsatian and surprisingly modern at the same time. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of old Strasbourg – you can practically smell the choucroute from the brasseries nearby – but the rooms have this clean, updated feel without trying too hard to be trendy. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are way nicer than what you’d expect from a 3-star. What really impressed me though was how quiet it gets at night. Even though you’re super close to Place Kléber and all that pedestrian area bustle, once evening hits, that little impasse becomes surprisingly peaceful. The staff clearly knows their stuff too – they gave me this whole rundown of which streets to take to avoid the weekend crowds when walking to the cathedral, and they were spot on.

Here’s the real deal: if you’re looking for one of those hotels with a fancy lobby and doormen, this isn’t it. But if you want a place that feels like you’ve got a friend in Strasbourg who happens to have a really nice apartment in the perfect location, then yeah, this works. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Rue des Grandes Arcades for shopping, five minutes from the cathedral (assuming you don’t get distracted by all the half-timbered houses along the way), and the Ill River is right there when you want to escape the crowds. Plus – and this matters if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center – the tram stops are super accessible, so getting out to places like the European Parliament or even day trips into the Vosges is actually doable. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. Just don’t expect to find it easily on your first try – that little impasse is more hidden than you’d think from looking at a map.

Reviews

  • Lovely, quiet and charming apartment in a fantastic location! – Heather from Switzerland – 21 July 2025 (10/10)

Really charming and cosy apartment. Central and quiet!

  • Felt like home. Modern comfort in a historical building. – Michaela from Czech Republic – 21 June 2025 (10/10)

It was a perfect location in the centre of Strasbourg, in an ancient house at the top floor with all the comfort of a modern appartment. We loved the decorations – something different, it felt very cozy and welcoming.
The kitchen was extremly well equiped, the same goes for the bathroom with plenty of towels and toilettries. We felt like at home.
Also, there were various guides of Strasboug, which we found really helpful, in particulat the one in the picture.

The host, even though we communicated only through messages, was very friendly and caring, always reacted quickly.

We will happily return to La Nuée Bleue.

What could be improved: We arrived during very hot days, so the bed just below the roof top was rather warm even with the provided ventilator. But we expected it as we read the previous reviews. So, my daughter slept downstairs on the sofa. I didn't mind running the ventilator and enjoyed the high bed, which got cool during the night and I slept well.

  • Great location, very clean and comfortable stay. – Eric from Germany – 20 June 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was clean, cozy, and perfectly located to explore Strasbourg.

  • Exceptional – Stanisław from Germany – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

We liked the interior design a lot

  • A stunning place perfect in the heart of the city – Martin from India – 19 May 2025 (10/10)

The location is super convenient. The flat is super cozy, absolutely lovely.

What could be improved: The stairs may not be for everyone. Young children and aged people could struggle.

  • Exceptional – Mairi from Greece – 17 May 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was warm, stylish and cute! It was at a convenient location! And the communication with the host was excellent, he was very helpful and friendly!

  • Nice, Thank you !! – Carole from Canada – 10 May 2025 (8/10)

Stayed in 1 night, charming appartment, quiet area. We did enjoy the moment

  • Everything was very good. Cozy space with everything you need. Comfortable location. The stay left only pleasant impress – Tetiana from Germany – 12 January 2025 (10/10)

    Everything was very good.

  • Very cozy stay – Laurent from United Arab Emirates – 30 December 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was super cozy and designed with taste (using a local/traditional look while remaining modern). It's location is ideal if you want to stay in the center of Strasbourg. The owner is very reactive and helpful.

What could be improved: Not something i did not like, but expect stairs and no lift (not for older people with big/heavy luggage).

  • Was perfect! – Fatma from Switzerland – 2 December 2024 (9/10)

Owner was very kind and help full to leave our luggage early.
and they were reachable in every time.

What could be improved: Since the bed area is on the roof, all the hot air collects at the top and it is difficult to sleep. When you lower the heater temperature, the lower part, which is the living area, becomes very cold, but it can be managed for short-term stays.
