So I stumbled across La Cabane – Cocon while hunting for something different in Strasbourg, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way. The name literally means “the cabin – cocoon” and that’s exactly what it feels like – this little hideaway tucked into Rue de Rosheim, which is actually pretty quiet considering you’re right in the heart of the city. You know what struck me first? How the owners managed to create this incredibly cozy atmosphere without making it feel cramped or overly precious. The space has this warm, enveloping quality that makes you want to kick off your shoes and just… exhale.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually – Rue de Rosheim puts you close enough to all the Strasbourg essentials without being in the thick of tourist chaos. You can walk to Petite France in about fifteen minutes (I timed it), and the cathedral’s practically around the corner, but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic and restaurant hawkers that plague some of the more obvious streets. There’s a decent bakery two blocks down that locals actually use – always a good sign – and the tram stop isn’t far if you want to venture out to the European Quarter. Parking can be a bit of a dance around here, I’ll be honest, but that’s Strasbourg for you. The hosts were really helpful with suggestions though, and there are a few public lots within walking distance.

What really gets me about this place is the attention to detail without the fussiness. The “cocon” concept isn’t just marketing speak – they’ve actually thought about what makes a space feel nurturing. The lighting is soft and warm (not those harsh overhead bulbs that make you look like you’re being interrogated), the bedding is genuinely comfortable, and there’s this sense that someone who travels a lot designed this for other people who travel a lot. It’s got that three-star sweet spot where you’re getting real comfort and personality without paying for marble bathrooms you don’t actually need. The 8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be. I mean, sometimes you want a place that feels like a really good friend’s guest room, you know? Somewhere you can spread out your stuff, plan your day over coffee, and actually feel rested instead of just temporarily housed. That’s exactly what La Cabane delivers.

  The locks are very safe. As a solo traveller, i feel very secured with the double locks. The bed and amenities are great. The bed is soft and comfortable. There is a wifi heater in the bathroom so its very convenient. Nicely decorated. Would be great for teenagers.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom being separated from the actual apartment, not convenient to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. At night, there are no lights in the hallway, you need to walk to the entrance to turn in the lights. Its inconvenient. No heater in the bedroom, it gets really cold at night.

  Nous sommes venus pour Noël. Le logement est bien situé, un parking juste à coter, c’est le top ! Propre et calme. Idéal pour un séjour en couple. C’était super ! Merci

  Je voulais partager avec vous mon expérience concernant le studio que j’ai loué pour mon séjour de 10 jours. Le studio en lui-même est charmant et bien situé, mais Ilya un point important à noter : la salle de bain est située à l’extérieur du studio. Cette disposition à cause quelques désagréments, notamment en raison de la nécessité de sortir à chaque fois que je veux utiliser la salle de bain. Cela peut-être particulièrement gênant la nuit où par mauvaise temps. À mon avis, cela a un impact négatif sur le confort et la praticité de mon séjour. Je voulais simplement vous informer de cette situation afin que vous puissiez en tenir compte pour de futures locations. Peut-être serait-il judicieux de vérifier ce genre de détails à l’avance pour éviter ce genre d’inconvénients. Merci de votre compréhension. Bien à vous.
