Hotel Description
Okay, so the name is absolutely ridiculous – I mean, “Immersion Bord de Mer – La Paillote Strasbourgeoise – Ciel étoilé – Vidéoprojecteur – Parking gratuit” sounds like someone just threw every possible French hospitality term into a hat and pulled them out randomly. But honestly? Don’t let that put you off, because this place on Route de Mittelhausbergen is actually something special.
First thing you notice when you pull up is that parking situation – and in Strasbourg, that’s no joke. Free parking near the city center is like finding a unicorn, so when they say “parking gratuit” in the name, they’re not kidding around. The building itself sits on this quiet residential street that locals use as a shortcut to avoid the tourist crowds around Petite France. You’re on the second floor, which I was initially skeptical about (nobody wants to haul luggage upstairs), but it actually works in your favor because you get this surprising view and zero street noise. The whole “ciel étoilé” (starry sky) thing in the name makes sense once you’re inside – they’ve got this projector setup that’s way more sophisticated than I expected. Not some cheap Amazon gadget, but something that actually transforms the ceiling into this immersive experience. My first night there, I’ll admit I just lay in bed watching fake constellations for probably an hour longer than any reasonable adult should.
What really got me though was how they’ve nailed the whole “paillote” vibe without it feeling forced or theme-park-ish. There’s this genuine beachy, relaxed atmosphere that somehow works perfectly in the middle of Alsace – go figure. The attention to detail is everywhere, from the way they’ve done the lighting to these little touches that feel personal rather than corporate. You know what I mean? Like someone actually lives here and cares about the space. The projector isn’t just for show either – they’ve got it set up so you can stream whatever you want, which saved my sanity during a particularly rainy evening when I just wanted to watch something mindless. And the sound quality is surprisingly good, though I’d keep it reasonable since you’re in a residential building and Strasbourgeois neighbors can be… particular about noise levels.
Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned without being in the thick of tourist chaos. Quick tram ride gets you to the cathedral or the European Quarter, but you can also just walk along Route de Mittelhausbergen toward the city center – takes maybe twenty minutes if you’re not in a hurry, and you pass some great little cafés that most visitors never find. The morning bakery run is easy too, with a proper boulangerie just down the street that opens ridiculously early. That 9.9 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense – it reflects the kind of place where someone clearly sweated the details to create something memorable. Sure, the name is a mouthful, but sometimes the best spots are the ones that are hard to explain to your friends back home.

Everything is perfect – Türkan from Turkey – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
Wow – what an absolutely stunning apartment! From the moment we walked in, it was clear that every single detail had been thoughtfully considered. The design is simply magnificent – stylish, modern, and so comfortable, yet still incredibly cozy and welcoming. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Everything you could possibly need in a house is already there: fully equipped kitchen, super comfy bed, fast Wi-Fi, even little extras like coffee, toiletries, and plenty of storage space. It’s clear the host really cares about their guests' experience.
The location? Perfect! Just steps away from everything – great restaurants, public transport, and local attractions. Whether you’re here to explore or just relax, you couldn’t ask for a better spot.
And I have to say… the host is honestly the cutest person ever. So warm, helpful, and genuinely kind. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect, and it truly was.
Can’t recommend this place enough – I’d move in if I could!Alles war Perfekt !!! – Galia from Germany – 19 January 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location of the apartment, 3 stops by tram to the centre, really very close and not tiring at all. Do not be upset if you are travelling by car and cannot immediately find parking space on the street near the apartment, there is a Parking in 2-3 minutes walking. We were lucky enough to park the car on the street, not far from the apartment. Since it is very convenient to get to the centre by tram, we did not use the car until we left. In fact, the apartments are wonderful, everything is nice, comfortable and very well thought out. The Hostess took care of every little thing: not only coffee, tea and other pleasant little things, also a bottle of wine, chocolate awaiting for us – it was so nice. We were also pleased to find, that Cathy left brochures with information about the city, travel and excursions, it was really helpful! And that starry sky in the bedroom!!! Wow!!! Everything is very charming, stylish, beautiful and evething is thought out to the smallest detail for your comfortable rest. The only bad thing was – we only stayed two nights and didn't enjoy it enough)) And Cathy is so nice, so careful!!! From the moment we booked the apartment till our departure, she was always in touch, ready to help, answering all our questions and requests. For both the Hostess and the apartment 10/10, bravo! Without a doubt, if we were to visit Strasbourg again, we would only book these apartments.
Nice luxe stay in French paillote apartment near main train station in Strasbourg. – Salil from India – 11 December 2024 (10/10)
We reached Luxe at Evasion, Rotonde stop by A & D Line tram from main train station. Rotonde tram stop is the first stop from main train station and property is just few meters opp. restaurant Chez Mario, Pizzeria.
Cathy is very helpful host. She guided us very responsibly to get the keys on the apartment at 2nd floor. The wooden spiral staircase to the door may be tough for others but we managed with our suitcases. Interior is done tastefully with paillote theme. Enjoyed the music and cinema on Home Projector TV theatre. Small grocery store and a good restaurant are just few across the street.
Very neat & Clean apartment with a big bedroom and and bathroom. Cosy round double bed with fresh bed sheets , covers and towels.
There was no meal plan in our stay. But kitchen is well equipped, spacious modern, loaded with tea – coffee. Also found Olive, Salt, pepper and Balsamic vinegar in ample quantities. We enjoyed our self cooked meals.
Thanks for the complimentary nice Alsace Wine and chocolate box.

What could be improved: The building are old and the stairsA small paradise in Strasbourg – Maimaris from Switzerland – 1 September 2024 (10/10)
The apartment is amazing beautifully decorated a hidden gem in town. Every single detail was taken into consideration.
There was a request of 500eu warranty as to confirm the booking which I found logic considering the value of the place that was released immediately as we left the apartment in the same conditions we have received it.
What could be improved: The parking was kind of difficult but not a fault of the property.Exceptional – Grzegorz from Turkey – 5 August 2024 (10/10)
A wonderful place where I could spend over two weeks, the decor of the apartment is amazing, close to the city center. The hostess takes care of the smallest details of the accommodation. Many thanks!
Luxury convenience at a low price – Oskar from Austria – 3 July 2024 (10/10)
After travelling my whole live across 134 countries, this was definitely the best AirBnB I have stayed.
Every little detail was thought of!!!
What could be improved: The only thing I could think about is the access:
There is no lift and you have to walk up to the second floor!Exceptional – Ji-hyun from Germany – 24 June 2024 (10/10)
The host was fantastic and took such a good care of us! The apartment was perfection!
Super geschmackvolle und romantische Unterkunft – Mario from Germany – 6 July 2025 (10/10)
Also nur 9.9/10 😄
