Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – it’s basically a studio apartment that happens to be in one of the best spots in Strasbourg. The name says “2min PLACE KLÉBER” and honestly, they’re not exaggerating. I mean, you walk out the door on Quai de Paris and you’re literally steps away from the main shopping square. It’s sort of ridiculous how central it is.

The building itself sits right along the canal, which sounds romantic until you realize it’s also where a fair amount of foot traffic passes by – not crazy loud, but you’ll hear people chatting as they walk to the cathedral area, especially on weekends. The studio is exactly what you’d expect from a 3-star setup: clean, functional, nothing fancy but everything works. What I actually loved about it was how the previous guests (or maybe the owner) clearly knew the neighborhood – there were these little handwritten notes about which boulangerie opens earliest (it’s the one on Rue des Grandes Arcades, by the way) and where to grab groceries without dealing with tourist prices.

You know what really sold me on this place though? The location puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Strasbourg. The cathedral is maybe a 5-minute stroll, Petite France takes about 15 minutes on foot, and if you’re into the whole European Parliament thing, the tram stop is right there. I spent most evenings just wandering around the old town streets – there’s something about being able to duck back to your place whenever you want that makes exploring feel more relaxed. The studio gets decent light in the mornings too, which was nice for those slow coffee moments before heading out. Parking is… well, it’s Strasbourg city center, so good luck with that. But honestly, once you’re there, you won’t need a car anyway. The whole historic center is perfectly walkable, and the public transport actually works if you need to venture further out. Just don’t expect luxury – this isn’t a hotel with a concierge or room service. It’s more like borrowing a friend’s place, which some people love and others might find a bit too DIY for their taste.

Reviews

  • A little studio in the heart of Strasbourg – Benjamin from Australia – 12 June 2025 (7/10)

Strasbourg is a lovely town; its central old quarter on the island is a beautiful place to wander. This apartment is perfectly located not far from the main train station and within walking distance of most of the centre of town. The studio apartment is of a good size for a brief stay; comfy bed; modern functional kitchen; recently renovated bathroom.

What could be improved: The negatives with this one are that (A) the hot water heater obviously doesn't work properly; my evening shower was lukewarm at best (maybe 30 degrees?), (B) there's no WiFi internet, which is as-per the listing, but easy to forget when you arrive, and (C) finding the place can be very difficult if you haven't pre-downloaded the instructions with all of the many photos that show you how to find the door to the apartment. As the apartment has no number on the door and as the lift doesn't go to that floor, the host has only provided detailed arrival instructions using photos (not with words in the email or listing), and the Booking.com emails don't load images on apple devices, so I needed to use a web-browser on a tiny phone to get to the detailed access instructions while standing out the front of the building, which was a little frustrating at the time.

  • Very good – Alan from Australia – 6 June 2025 (8/10)

Great location, easy 10-15 min walk to train station, nice apartment for 2 people. .

What could be improved: Just some decent coffee cups.

  • Great location, beautiful apartment – Lia from Australia – 28 May 2025 (8/10)

Great communication from our host who gave clear instructions for finding the accommodation and checking in. Excellent location! So easy to walk to the train station and around town, lots of amazing cafes/bars/restaurants around! Comfortable bed, very clean accommodation. Overall a really nice studio apartment!

What could be improved: No wifi available unfortunately. There is lift access most of the way but stairs to get to the top level. We managed okay because we didn’t have much luggage but good to keep in mind if you’re thinking of staying here!

  • Good – Noel from Australia – 3 June 2025 (7/10)

This is a small studio style apartment in a very good location in the heart of the wonderful city of Strasbourg, France. We were travelling by train, and the apartment was a short walk from and back to the main railway station. Plus it's location was excellent in terms of exploring this vibrant and historic city. Maxime, the owner, kindly enabled us to check in early which suited us well.

What could be improved: We had problems getting hot water from the taps and the shower during our 2 day stay. After contacting the owner he advised it takes around 6 or 7 minutes for the hot water to flow into this top floor apartment. Maxime said he will try and remedy this, however future guests should be aware of the hot water situation. We were disappointed there were no supplies for making tea, coffee, etc which virtually all other places provide. Guests should be aware there is no wifi available in this apartment, which is unusual.

  • Great location. You give some to get some. – Santanu from India – 31 March 2025 (8/10)

The owner of the apartment Maxime is great person. The place didn't have a WiFi. He took the trouble of delivering and connecting a dongle personally to provide us with WiFi connectivity.

What could be improved: The ensuite toilet and shower were too small

  • Comfortable and good value city centre stay – Paul from United Kingdom – 19 June 2025 (9/10)

The property is in an excellent location near the city centre and the cathedral, it is fairly convenient for the main railway station, and there are plenty of facilities nearby. Along with a good tram network, Strasbourg is very pedestrian-friendly. The property itself was well-equipped and the bed was comfortable. There were views of the cathedral – and storks – along with distant mountains from different windows.

What could be improved: The owner sent us detailed instructions on how to access the right property once we were in the block, but due to a mobile phone issue we were unable to access these and we had to ask for help. Had there been just a number, or a name on the door we would have easily found it. Sometimes the old ways really are the best!

  • Great location and super modern – Sebastian from Australia – 12 May 2025 (10/10)

The property is in a great location, and has everything you'll need. It's super clean, very organised and super modern.

What could be improved: Nothing, the place was great!

  • Nothing to recommend – Lisa from Canada – 20 June 2025 (1/10)

    Location ok

What could be improved: No air conditioning, convoluted instructions for access, toilet running continuously, room was unbearably hot with only one small fan, wifi did not work, etc

  • Horrible place. – Dariusz from United Kingdom – 4 May 2025 (1/10)

What could be improved: Could not find the place. Unpossible to park a car. Plenty of drug dealers and junkies in the neighbourhood. Plenty of dirt, unkempt streets.

  • Juste assez près des sites touristiques, juste assez loin pour la tranquillité! – Marie-hélène from Canada – 7 July 2025 (8/10)
