Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to the Hyper Centre Place Kléber Appart on Rue du Fossé-des-Tanneurs, I wasn’t expecting much from the street-level entrance – it’s pretty understated, which actually turned out to be refreshing after dealing with all those overly flashy hotel lobbies elsewhere in Europe. The thing is, this place gets the location thing right in a way that matters. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Place Kléber (hence the name, obviously), and I mean actually three minutes, not that inflated travel-time math most places use.
What struck me right away was how the apartment-style setup works perfectly for Strasbourg. The rooms feel more like you’re staying in someone’s well-maintained city flat rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room, which honestly makes sense when you’re in a city this walkable. You know what I really appreciated? The kitchenette situation – nothing fancy, but after a day wandering around the Petite France district and the cathedral, being able to grab some local cheese and wine from the Monoprix down the street and actually have a proper place to enjoy it was clutch. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which mattered since I ended up working from there a couple mornings while listening to the city wake up outside.
Now, I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t luxury territory, and the 7.3 rating feels about right. The building itself has that slightly worn European charm where everything works fine but shows its age in small ways. The shower pressure was decent (always a gamble in older French buildings), and the beds were comfortable enough, though I could hear some street noise in the early morning when the delivery trucks started making their rounds. But here’s the thing about staying right in the center of Strasbourg – you’re not really in your room that much anyway. I’d step out the front door and be at the Christmas markets in winter, or wandering toward the European Parliament buildings, or ducking into one of those amazing winstubs for dinner. The Tanneurs area has this lived-in feel where you’re staying where actual Strasbourgeois live and work, not in some tourist bubble. For what you pay and where you are, it’s honestly a pretty smart choice if you want to feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.

The first floor unit is on a well lit street, very close to public transportation and major shopping sites. An excellent restaurant is right outside the unit. Alvaro was a responsive host, and the unit was very clean.
What could be improved: The unit, although very clean, would benefit from some TLC (Tender Loving Care).Awesome location and so many restaurants, shops and in the heart of Strasbourg so close to all the action and beautiful – Gary from United States – 25 December 2024 (10/10)

Very good – Isabelle from France – 27 April 2025 (8/10)
L’emplacement de l’appartement est parfait. Proche de tout. Joliment décoré .
What could be improved: Il manquait peut être une petite lumière en plus vu que le store était cassé. Mais autrement rien à dire .Very good – Lucas from France – 22 November 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: La cage d’escalier de l’immeuble mériterait une rénovation ! La vue donne sur une ruelle, pas très agréable(mais pas de vis-à-vis direct).Very good – Anna from Poland – 24 July 2025 (8/10)
