Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Roses? It’s tucked on this quiet little street just off the main drag, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from Strasbourg’s train station – which, honestly, makes life so much easier when you’re dragging luggage around. The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm without trying too hard, if that makes sense. When I walked in, the lobby felt lived-in rather than sterile, with this warm wood paneling and enough character that you know it’s been around for a while but well cared for.
The rooms are what I’d call “exactly what you need” – clean, comfortable beds that actually let you sleep, decent Wi-Fi (tested it immediately, as you do), and bathrooms that work properly. Nothing fancy, but honestly refreshing after staying in places that spend more on Instagram-worthy decor than functional basics. The windows open properly too, which is a small thing but matters when you want fresh air instead of just AC. I mean, the furniture’s a bit dated, but it’s the good kind of dated – solid pieces that have some life left in them. What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night. Rue de Zurich isn’t a main thoroughfare, so you’re not dealing with traffic noise, and the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors unless they’re really going at it.
Location-wise, this is where Hotel Roses really shines – you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters but far enough from the tourist chaos around the cathedral to actually relax. The staff seems to actually live in Strasbourg (shocking concept, I know), so they give you real recommendations instead of the usual tourist trap suggestions. Parking’s available nearby if you’re driving, though honestly you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. The breakfast is simple but does the job – proper coffee, fresh bread, nothing revolutionary but executed well. For a three-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of value. You’re paying for location and reliability rather than luxury, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I needed to catch an early train or wanted to explore Strasbourg without the hotel being the main event of the trip.

I'd go back to Hotel Roses. – Elizabeth from United States – 20 May 2025 (8/10)
Location and reception were great. Not too near all the noise near the square, but not much of a walk. Beautiful scenery on the way.
Very good – Accangan from France – 23 April 2025 (8/10)
the location is very convenient to all the tourist destinations and you can walk to the bus stations and to the train station. the staff are so accommodating.

Small, nice hotel with great staff in wonderful location. – Paul from United States – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
Very good location. Front desk staff were polite and professional. Room was clean and comfortable, though the bed (typical double = European twin beds attached) was 'sunken' in the middle. Room was warm (good heaters in bathroom and bedroom). Great water pressure and warm/hot water. Breakfast was good (meats/cheese/yogurts/hard boiled eggs/ juice/ coffee, etc), with a variety of breads (sweet and 'normal'). No warm items. Did not use the sauna so no information on that. I would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: Unrelated to the hotel, but FYI, the parking in the garage across the street is 22€/24hrs. Breakfast is 13€/pp.Superb – Maciej from Poland – 19 December 2024 (9/10)
Nice and cosy place in a perfect location. In close distance to everwhere – but still outside the big noise.

Decent hotel at a very nice location! The room was very clean!
What could be improved: I believe it is a bit expensive for what it offers! The room was small and not very comfortable! Also, the room needs some renovation! However, overall we were satisfied!Superb – Zhengnan from Ireland – 29 October 2024 (9/10)
Location is very good, and quiet. Shower is comfortable. Stuff are nice.
What could be improved: Bathroom is a bit small but I don't find inconvenient.although I specified in the booking that I want 2 close rooms, the staff ignored this aspect 😟😟 – Alina from Romania – 24 September 2024 (8/10)
