Hilton Strasbourg Overview

First Impressions

Walking into the Hilton Strasbourg, you immediately sense this is a hotel that knows its place in the city. The lobby has that polished, international feel you’d expect from a four-star Hilton, but there’s something distinctly Alsatian about the way they’ve styled it — subtle nods to the region without going overboard on the half-timbered theme. I mean, you’re still clearly in a modern business hotel, but they’ve managed to avoid that generic airport-hotel vibe that some chains fall into.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciate about this place — it sits right where Strasbourg‘s business district meets the more interesting parts of town. You’re on Avenue Herrenschmidt, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is, and you can actually walk to the historic center in about fifteen minutes. The European Parliament is practically next door, so you’ll see a lot of well-dressed Europeans in the lobby, but the real charm of Strasbourg — those winding canals and the incredible cathedral — is totally accessible on foot. There’s also a tram stop nearby, which locals will tell you is the best way to get around anyway.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was on the sixth floor, and honestly, it delivered exactly what you’d hope for from Hilton. Clean lines, comfortable bed, and a workspace that actually works if you need to get things done. The bathroom was modern and spacious — nothing groundbreaking, but everything functioned perfectly. What surprised me was the soundproofing; despite being on a fairly busy avenue, I barely heard any street noise. The view isn’t going to blow you away unless you get lucky with a higher floor, but you’re not really here to stare out the window all day.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel restaurant serves a mix of international and regional dishes, and while I wouldn’t call it a destination in itself, the breakfast spread is genuinely impressive. They do this thing where they blend classic continental options with local Alsatian specialties — you know, proper bread, local cheeses, that sort of thing. The fitness center is well-equipped and rarely crowded, at least when I was there. Parking is available but it’ll cost you extra, which is pretty standard for city center hotels in France.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about this place is how it balances business-traveler efficiency with actual comfort. Couples seem to particularly enjoy it here — and I can see why. You get reliable service, a solid location that doesn’t require constant taxi rides, and enough local character to feel like you’re actually in Strasbourg rather than just any European city. It’s not trying to be the most charming hotel in town, but it delivers on the fundamentals while keeping you close to everything that makes this city worth visiting. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out dinner plans or the best route to the cathedral.

Apartments in Strasbourg provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Alsatian culinary traditions.

Location is great, check in was quick

What could be improved: The bathroom are quite old and would need refurbishment. Staff comes in the room without knocking which is not acceptablez

  • Staff was clever and prompt, a necessary countebalance to the aging infrastructure – Matteo from Estonia – 19 November 2024 (8/10)

The staff is professional and accommodating

What could be improved: It is an aging property. One lift would not open doors on my room floor, which practically prevented the other two lifts to work on the same floor.

What could be improved: breakfast options were a little limited. the hotel is not directly in the city center but we had a car so was no problem for us.

Very spacious room. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Easy to park and about 25 minute walk into Petite France.

What could be improved: Breakfast items were cold. A new tray of scrambled eggs was bought out and even this was cold.

  • Very good – Lorraine from United Kingdom – 17 August 2024 (8/10)

Clean and what you would expect from a Hilton

What could be improved: The smell of stale cigarettes was apparent but hotel is a non-smoking hotel.

  • Nice hotel, great staff, all in all a good stay – Clinton from United Kingdom – 13 August 2024 (8/10)

Good hotel in a good position near the motorway.
Decent evening meal, awesome breakfast, and faultless staff.

  • Comfortable place to stay in Strasbourg – Mamane from Israel – 3 August 2024 (8/10)

The room size is great with a lovely big bathroom ,including bath and toiletries. There is a minibar in the room and a water cooler on each floor. A carafe and water glasses are provided in the room for this purpose. The beds were very comfortable and large. There is a parking area on site that is pay per day.

  • Very good – Zoran from Germany – 22 July 2024 (8/10)

Room is nice and clean, staff friendly and helpful, bed is comfortable.

What could be improved: Breakfast was poor, at 8:30 we had just eggs, bacon and some bread, everything else was gone.
