Honestly, the Hilton Strasbourg caught me off guard – in a good way. When you first pull up to 1 Avenue Herrenschmidt, it’s this sleek modern tower that feels almost out of place among Strasbourg’s half-timbered buildings, but somehow it works. The lobby has that polished corporate feel you’d expect from Hilton, though the staff actually seem genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth, and they pointed me toward the underground parking without me even asking (which, trust me, you’ll want since street parking around there is basically a blood sport).

What really sold me on this place was the view situation – if you score a room facing east, you get these incredible glimpses of the cathedral spires peeking through the cityscape. I mean, you’re not right in the Petite France postcard zone, but you’re close enough that everything feels walkable without dealing with tourist chaos right outside your window. The rooms themselves are that reliable Hilton standard – nothing revolutionary, but the beds are properly comfortable and the bathrooms actually have decent water pressure. You know what I appreciated? The soundproofing is solid. Even though you’re on a fairly busy avenue, I barely heard traffic noise at night. The fitness center is surprisingly well-equipped too, though it gets packed around 7 AM with business travelers.

Location-wise, you’re maybe a 15-minute stroll to the cathedral and all the main sights, but here’s the thing locals know – you’re also super close to the university area, which means better restaurant options that aren’t just tourist traps. There’s this little bakery called Pâtisserie Christian about three blocks away that does incredible kouglof, and honestly, starting your morning there beats hotel breakfast any day (though the Hilton’s breakfast spread is decent if you’re in a rush). The tram stop is right there if you need to get to the European Quarter or the train station quickly. I stayed during late spring when the weather was perfect for walking everywhere, but I imagine having that tram access would be clutch in winter. The 7.4 rating feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, and well-positioned, but it’s not going to blow your mind or give you those Instagram-worthy boutique hotel moments. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need though, especially if you’re using Strasbourg as a base to explore Alsace or you’ve got early meetings in the European district.

  room was very clean and there was an extra bed for my child in the room when we arrived, although we did not request it. Staff are friendly and we received a 50% discount on parking because we booked through Booking.com.

  Very spacious room. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful.
  Easy to park and about 25 minute walk into Petite France.

  The room size is great with a lovely big bathroom ,including bath and toiletries. There is a minibar in the room and a water cooler on each floor. A carafe and water glasses are provided in the room for this purpose. The beds were very comfortable and large. There is a parking area on site that is pay per day.
