Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Grand Studio on Rue du Faubourg-de-Saverne, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you without trying too hard.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know Strasbourg at all. You’re right in that sweet spot where you can walk to the cathedral and Petite France (maybe 12-15 minutes on foot), but you’re not paying those crazy center-ville prices or dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your window. The Faubourg-de-Saverne area has this nice residential vibe – there’s a decent boulangerie just down the street where locals actually go, and honestly, that morning coffee smell drifting up from the street level is better than any alarm clock. The tram stop is close enough that you can easily hop over to the European Quarter if that’s your thing, though I mean, why would you rush when the old town is right there?

The studio itself is… well, it’s a studio, so don’t expect a sprawling suite. But they’ve done something smart with the space – it doesn’t feel cramped like some of these converted apartments can. The bed was actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and there’s enough room to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being on a main street would mean traffic noise, but the windows do their job, and honestly, Strasbourg isn’t exactly a 24-hour party city anyway. The little kitchenette is more functional than I expected – perfect for those mornings when you want to grab some cheese and bread from the market and eat like a human instead of hunting for overpriced hotel breakfast. Oh, and the shower pressure? Better than half the fancy places I’ve stayed at, which is saying something. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Staff was straightforward, check-in was smooth, and parking… well, you’re in Strasbourg, so park at one of the big lots and walk, or better yet, just use the trams. I’d definitely stay here again, especially in late spring when you can walk everywhere and the city has that perfect not-too-crowded energy.

  Location is amazing. We walked from train station to the apartment and from apartment to all the major sites without needing to spend on public transport. Clean room and easy to check in and out.

  The location is pretty good, size of the flat is okay as well. The heating was not on when I arrived, but it warmed up pretty quickly. Price wise it is on the cheaper side for Strasbourg, but it was a bit dirty.
  
  What could be improved: It was not as clean as I would have liked. The towels were washed, but there still was someone's hair on both of the towels that were in the apartment. The towels were also VERY hard as someone already mentioned. Some of the shelves were super dusty. The entrance is a bit weird at first if you arrive at night, but nothing terrible. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke all the time.

  Excellent, quiet location very near to a commercial centre and all the amenities of Strasbourg. We walked everywhere. Baptiste responded quickly and helpfully to any enquiries. Complimentary tea coffee. Informative welcome brochure. Comfortable, well-planned small apartment. Excellent contact, information before arrival and flexibility in terms of entrance time to apartment.

  What could be improved: ΅We stayed 3 nights .The building was very old so there was no sound proof . We heard everyone passing , even talking .The floor was tipe wooden but very noisy !!! The Kitchen was with very poor equipment. And dirty !!!We asked for face towels though we found only one body towel for each person, and one flore towel…..ANSWER : There is 1 shower towel per person per stay due to constraints with the entreprise for house keeping .What ……..!?!?!?!? My answer back !!! I dont agree . After the second day the basin smell urine …….I ve never done a bad review ever …. We stayed in 3 diffrent location in Alcase ….this was the worse. I realy wonder about the rating given from the others !?!?!?
