Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “grand loft avec patio” in the name, I was expecting something a bit pretentious. But this place on Rue Munch actually delivers on that promise without being stuffy about it. You know what struck me first? The building itself has this understated Strasbourg charm – it’s tucked into this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from the quais along the Ill River. I mean, you can practically smell the water and hear the tour boats puttering by if you open the windows.

The loft itself is surprisingly spacious – and I say surprising because, well, European “grand” can sometimes mean “slightly larger than a closet.” This actually feels grand. The ceilings are high enough that you don’t feel like you’re living in someone’s converted attic, and that patio… honestly, it’s where I ended up spending most of my morning coffee time. It faces away from the street, so you get this nice quiet bubble even though you’re right in the city. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel, which I love – there’s a proper kitchen, decent-sized bathroom, and the bed is actually comfortable (you’d be shocked how many places get that wrong).

What really sold me on this spot is how it sits in the neighborhood. Rue Munch connects you to everything without dumping you in the middle of tourist chaos. Walk one direction and you hit the quais where all the boat tours start – perfect if you want to do that whole Petite France thing without staying right in the thick of it. Walk the other way and you’re in actual residential Strasbourg, with those little bakeries and cafés where you’re the only obvious outsider. The parking situation is… well, it’s Strasbourg, so it’s complicated, but there’s street parking if you’re patient, and honestly the tram connections are good enough that I ended up ditching the car most days anyway. The 3-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and well-located, which is exactly what you want. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend time both in the historic center and just wandering the regular parts of the city.

  The location is excellent. Besides being only a 5 minute walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral and thus the main Christmas Market, it was just outside the main tourist areas on a quiet street and so was not crowded or noisy at night. There is a nearby tram stop although we chose to walk everywhere and it was easy to get an Uber. There were restaurants and bars and a bakery within a 2 minute walk and a Carrefour City Supermarket again within five minutes walk. The Owner was very responsive, friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The ground floor Apartment is in a modern low rise residential building, was very clean and well equipped with excellent WiFi. All in all a property I would very happily rent again

  Un séjour incroyable !! 🙂 L'appartement est très sympa, joliment décoré et vraiment très propre.
  Les points que j'ai particulièrement apprécié : la luminosité de l'appartement et le fait d'être en plein cœur de Strasbourg et de n'avoir aucune nuisance sonore une fois dans l'appartement.
