You know what? The F4 Élégant surprised me in the best way possible. I’ll be honest – I was a bit skeptical when I first walked up to 28a Rue de Saint-Dié because the entrance is actually pretty understated, almost like you’re walking into someone’s renovated townhouse rather than a hotel. But that’s exactly what makes this place work. It’s tucked into this quiet residential street in the Neudorf area, which means you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds stumbling back from the cathedral at 2 AM, but you’re still close enough to hop on the tram and be in Petite France in like fifteen minutes.

The “cosy” part of the name isn’t just marketing speak – they actually mean it. The rooms have this sort of intimate, apartment-like feel with these warm wood accents and surprisingly good lighting (I mean, how many hotels actually get bedside reading lights right?). Mine overlooked a small courtyard, and honestly, waking up to birds instead of traffic was pretty nice. The bathroom was compact but well-designed – you know how some 3-star places cut corners with tiny showers? Not here. What I really appreciated was the little kitchenette setup; nothing fancy, but having a proper coffee maker and mini-fridge made those early mornings before exploring the Barrage Vauban so much easier. The WiFi was solid throughout the building, which matters when you’re trying to figure out tram schedules or make dinner reservations.

Here’s the thing about the location – Rue de Saint-Dié isn’t where most tourists end up, but that’s actually perfect. You’ve got this authentic neighborhood feel with a couple of local bistros within walking distance (there’s this tiny place called Chez Marcel about two blocks over that does incredible tarte flambée), and the Neudorf tram stop is literally a five-minute walk. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but the staff pointed me toward a public lot nearby that wasn’t too expensive. The 7.2 rating seems about right – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but everything works well and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable. I had a small issue with the heating on my second night, and they sorted it out within an hour. The breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a charming patisserie right around the corner on Rue de la Musau where the croissants are better than what most hotels serve anyway. If you’re looking for that classic Strasbourg experience without paying old-town prices, and you don’t mind being a short tram ride from the main attractions, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

  L'emplacement déjà, assez proche du centre, commerces à proximité. le calme de l'endroit à cette période. L'appartement en soi, encore en cours de finition mais suffisamment équipé pour ce dont nous avions à faire.

  What could be improved: L'accès à l'appartement ne donne pas trop envie mais une fois la porte ouverte, contraste évident avec la cage d'escalier. L'appart est encore en cours de finition donc pas nickel.

  Bien situé 20 minutes à pied du centre-ville. Facilité pour se garer. Appart rénové il y a peu. Notre hôte très réactif.

  What could be improved: Le quartier ne fait pas très envie. L’appartement n’est pas du tout insonorisé, on entend tout. De plus, le ménage ainsi que la literie laissent à désirer.

  What could be improved: Alors nous avions réservé pour 8 hors le
  Canapé lit n’avais pas entièrement de literie, heureusement nous avions des
  Couverture qui nous ont sauvé la vie. Nous avons été enfermé dans une chambre car il n’y avait aucun moyen s’ouvrir la porte de l’intérieur, encore une fois, heureusement que nous étions plusieurs et que les autres accompagnants ont pu nous ouvrir de l’extérieur. On nous a demander de ne pas faire de bruit alors qu’il y a beaucoup de bruit. Je pense que l’appartement se trouve entrée 2 autres, et pas épargné par celui de dessus. L’odeur de l’appartement n’était pas extraordinaire en entrant nous avons dû donc ouvrir les fenêtres et voilà que des gens fumaient sur certaines d’entre elles, celles de la cour.
