The name means “in the stars” which honestly sounds a bit cheesy until you’re actually there at night and realize they’ve got these skylights that make you feel like you’re sleeping under the actual sky. It’s tucked away on Rue de la Thumenau, which most tourists completely miss because they’re all rushing toward the cathedral, but that’s exactly why it works so well.

The two-bedroom setup is perfect if you’re traveling with family or friends who actually want their own space (you know how that goes). What really sold me though was walking in and smelling fresh coffee brewing – turns out the owners live nearby and genuinely care about the small touches. The parking situation is honestly a godsend because anyone who’s tried to navigate Strasbourg’s city center with a car knows it’s basically a medieval maze designed to frustrate modern drivers. From here, you can walk to Petite France in about twelve minutes, or catch the tram right at Gallia stop – I timed it because I’m nerdy like that.

The neighborhood itself is this quiet residential pocket where you’ll hear church bells from Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux in the morning instead of tourist chatter. There’s a little boulangerie called Maison Kammerer just two streets over where locals actually go for their morning pastries, not the overpriced spots near the cathedral. I mean, the apartment isn’t going to win any design awards – the kitchen’s a bit cramped and the shower pressure could be stronger – but there’s something genuinely homey about it. The owners left this handwritten guide to their favorite local spots, including a wine bar called Le Tire-Bouchon that I never would’ve found otherwise. You can actually open the windows at night without traffic noise, which is rare for anywhere this close to the center. The rating of 9 out of 10 makes total sense when you factor in that you’re getting authentic Strasbourg living rather than sterile hotel efficiency. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself making coffee in the morning and planning your day like you actually live there, instead of rushing out to hit tourist checkboxes.
