Hotel Description

You know what surprised me most about this place? It actually feels like staying in someone’s Strasbourg apartment – which, honestly, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to avoid another cookie-cutter hotel room. The Cozy Appartement Halles is tucked away on Rue Clément, and I mean really tucked away. You’ll walk past a few times before you spot the entrance, but that’s sort of the charm of it.

The location is pretty brilliant once you get oriented. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Les Halles market (hence the name), and I’d wake up to the sounds of vendors setting up their stalls around 7 AM – not unpleasant, just… authentically French. The cathedral is maybe five minutes on foot, but more importantly, you’re in the heart of where actual Strasbourg residents live and shop. There’s this little bakery called Maison Kammerzell around the corner that locals queue up at every morning – their pain au chocolat is ridiculous. The apartment itself has that lived-in feel that most places try to fake but never quite nail. The kitchen actually has proper knives and pans you’d want to cook with, not the usual dull hotel nonsense. I ended up making breakfast most mornings with stuff from the market downstairs, which felt infinitely better than hunting for overpriced hotel coffee.

What really sold me though was the attention to small details – good shower pressure (seriously underrated), blackout curtains that actually block light, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with lumpy pillows all night. There’s no elevator, so if you’ve got heavy bags and end up on the third floor like I did, well… consider it your daily workout. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which means you’ll actually sleep, but it also means finding dinner late can be a bit of a hunt. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtfully done and genuinely comfortable. That 8.8 rating makes sense too; I can see why people keep coming back here. It’s the kind of place that spoils you for those sterile business hotels where everything feels like it was designed by committee. If you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Strasbourg rather than just passing through it, this hits the mark perfectly.

Early hotels booking in Strasbourg is essential during major events like the Christmas Market, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned festive atmosphere and Gothic architecture.

Reviews

  • Very good place for visiting Strasbourg on foot ! – Adrian from Romania – 21 May 2025 (9/10)

Very well located, we went by foot on all major attractions in Strasbourg city center (45 minutes to European Parliament, the farthest one). Clean and very well equipped, plenty of space for 4 persons, breakfast or bakery available on the same street, across the street from a shopping center, 10 minutes walk for the central area.

What could be improved: A bit noisy one morning in the bedroom facing the street, during garbage pick-up.

  • Really lives up to its name – Nadav from Israel – 13 April 2025 (10/10)

We had the best time. Great location, close parking. Apartment really lives up to its name. Every need met. 10/10

  • Spotless, convenient – Aslı from Turkey – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

The self check-in system was very practical. What I loved most about this place was that it had all the amenities of an apartment and was extremely clean. The owner was very kind and allowed us to store our bags for a few hours, which we really appreciated. The only downside was the lack of slippers and a bit pricey

  • The apartment was perfect, very clean and fully equipped. It is on walking distance to most of tourist attractions. – Ivan from Croatia – 8 February 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was warm, nice and very clean. It is fully equipped and even you have some stuff like oil, salt, sugar, different kind of coffee, etc. The host even left some sweets for the kids. It is at walking distance to the most of tourist attractions like the main square, Cathedral, Petite France, … We will be back for sure.

  • Very good for families – Elissavet from Germany – 3 November 2024 (10/10)

Mrs. Anna, who waited for us, was very kind and explained everything.
    The apartment was very clean.
There was everything you needed in the kitchen. Additionally, all kinds of coffee, tee, sugar, and a lot more things like olive oil, vinegar, etc.
The pillows and the quilts were the best we had ever in an apartment.

  • A comfortable, spacious and cosy apartment close to the Grand Ile. – Dobrila from Switzerland – 9 September 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is amazingly well-equipped. The kitchen has a stove, a microwave, a kettle, and an espresso machine (with complementary coffee capsules). It is very clean and well-kept.

What could be improved: The elevator is rather noisy and disturbing during the night.

  • Absolutely will look them up on our next Strasbourg trip! – Robert from United States – 10 July 2024 (10/10)

The location is perfect. One block from a tram line, and a mall with supermarket right across the street. Strasbourg in general is a fantastic walking town, so we were convenient to anything we needed. There was plenty of bedding, all clean, and a wonderful crossbreeze when we opened the windows. MANY bonus points for providing coffee pods for this exhausted traveler! Everyone slept well, the bathroom was a fine size, it was quiet at night… everything we could have asked for!

What could be improved: Better… better… Honestly, I have no complaints. It was exactly as advertised and exceeded expectations.
