Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of cramped European studios, but this little place on Rue de la 1ère Armée actually gets it right. When I first walked up to the second floor (well, first floor if you’re thinking European-style), I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow hallway, but honestly? The space itself surprised me. It’s cosy without being claustrophobic – and I mean that in the best way possible.

The location is what really makes this spot shine, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the cathedral, which sounds touristy until you realize how perfect it is for grabbing morning coffee at one of those little cafés on Place Kléber before the crowds hit. I actually found myself popping back during the day because – here’s the thing nobody tells you about Strasbourg – your feet will be killing you after wandering those cobblestones all day, and having a proper base this close to everything means you can recharge without losing half your sightseeing time to transportation. The Petite France area is maybe ten minutes if you take the scenic route along the Ill River, and you know what? That walk becomes part of the charm, especially in the evening when the half-timbered houses start glowing.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being right in the center. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise during the day – it’s the city center, not a monastery – but nights were surprisingly peaceful. The studio itself has everything you actually need (proper shower pressure, thank god, and a little kitchenette that’s functional if you want to grab groceries from the Monoprix nearby). The whole setup feels like someone actually thought about how people travel, not just how to cram amenities into marketing copy. Parking can be tricky around here – I’d honestly recommend the Park-and-Ride system if you’re driving in, but the tram connections are solid anyway. Check-in was straightforward, no drama, and the 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re settled in. It’s one of those places where you realize the three-star rating doesn’t tell the whole story – sometimes you just want a clean, well-located base that doesn’t eat your entire travel budget, and this delivers exactly that without any pretense about being something it’s not.

  The location is in the center of Strasbourg. I stayed during the Christmas Market, it was really convenient to visit the city. The host is a kind family and very proactive in terms of communication. And the apartment is clean and nicely decorated. I enjoyed everything.
