Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Citadines Eurometropole? It’s actually tucked away in this modern business district that most tourists never see – and honestly, that’s kind of perfect. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute tram ride from the cathedral and Petite France, but you get to stay somewhere that feels like where actual Strasbourg residents might live if they had hotel housekeeping.

The building itself is sleek in that understated European way – none of that flashy stuff you see in chain hotels. What I really appreciated was the apartment-style setup; you get a proper kitchenette with a full-size fridge, which is clutch if you’re planning to hit the Saturday morning market at Place du Marché aux Poissons (trust me on this one). The rooms are spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase, and the beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not too firm. I’ve noticed French hotels can be hit or miss on mattresses, but they nailed it here.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture: you’re right by the European Parliament area, so there are these excellent lunch spots that cater to the international crowd working nearby. Plus, parking is way easier here than anywhere in the old town – the hotel has its own garage, which honestly saved my sanity after driving through those narrow medieval streets. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after business hours, so if you’re someone who needs actual sleep (guilty), this works out perfectly. The tram stop is basically across the street, and the E line gets you everywhere you need to go without the headache of navigating Strasbourg’s… let’s call them “creative” traffic patterns. I actually ended up enjoying the short commute into the historic center each morning – gave me a chance to see how the city wakes up, you know? And when you come back in the evening, there’s something really nice about retreating to this calm, residential-feeling area instead of being stuck in the tourist chaos all night.

To book a hotel in Strasbourg during the famous Christmas Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts holiday enthusiasts and culture lovers from around the world.

    Very spacious and clean

  • Highly recommended! – Michail from Switzerland – 25 July 2025 (8/10)

The hotel is clean, generously appointed, and provides all the necessary amenities for a short stay of one to two nights. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

What could be improved: The hotel is located outside the city, and unfortunately, none of the access cards provided to us worked, which made the stay unnecessarily inconvenient.

  • Exceptional – Andy from United States – 25 July 2025 (10/10)

Breakfast was great, self-service laundry on-site, walking distance to supermarket

What could be improved: Parking garage is not high enough for vans over 1.9m

  • Exceptional – Uygur from France – 20 July 2025 (10/10)

    Clean new and modern

  • Very pleasant stay. – Ian from United Kingdom – 17 July 2025 (9/10)

Fabulous apartment, great balcony, very large comfortable space. Good view!

What could be improved: No English channels on TV

  • Nice!! – Sudhanshu from India – 16 July 2025 (8/10)

Well appointed apartment. Staff was helpful.

What could be improved: The sofa bed was not made up when we checked in…. it has left over pop corns from the earlier guests.

  • New, comfortable, very well equipped. – Zdenek from Czech Republic – 6 July 2025 (9/10)

Quite a new hotel – the reality looked even better than on the pictures. Large room, quiet A/C, ergonomic mattress, large flat-screen TV, large and well equipped bathroom. Underground parking with direct access (lift) to the rooms. Breakfast not cheap (€18) but plenty of options there. Stable wifi internet.

What could be improved: Just that the location is far away from the downtown and just a few restaurant choices around there. But the price reflects that, still good value if you have a car.

  • Exceptional – Shamaila from United Kingdom – 6 July 2025 (10/10)

Very nice hotel, comfy beds, good size rooms, accessible parking which made the whole experience easy. We didn't get time to enjoy the spa but it looked lovely!
