Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to 9 Rue de Londres, I almost missed it – this little studio is tucked into one of those charming Strasbourg streets that feels more residential than touristy, which is actually perfect if you ask me. The private entrance thing isn’t just marketing speak either; you really do get your own way in without dealing with a lobby or other guests, which I appreciated after those long days wandering around the cathedral and getting pleasantly lost in Petite France.
The studio itself is… well, it’s exactly what it says on the tin, but done thoughtfully. You know how some places feel like they just crammed a bed into a closet and called it a day? This isn’t that. There’s genuine attention to making the small space work – I mean, you’re not going to be hosting dinner parties, but everything you actually need is there and placed where it makes sense. The kitchenette was surprisingly functional (I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple dinner one night), and honestly, the whole setup felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a typical hotel room. The bathroom’s compact but perfectly adequate, and the shower pressure was better than my last apartment, if I’m being honest.
What really sold me on this place was the location without the chaos. Rue de Londres sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the main sights – the cathedral’s maybe a 12-minute stroll, and you can easily wander over to the European Quarter if that’s your thing – but far enough from the tourist crush that you can actually sleep at night. I stayed during summer when Strasbourg gets pretty busy, and while you could hear the occasional evening conversation from the street, it never felt intrusive. The neighborhood has this lived-in quality with actual residents going about their business, a few local spots for grabbing groceries or a quick bite, and none of that performative quaintness you get in the super touristy areas.
There’s street parking if you’re driving (though honestly, once you’re here, you probably won’t need the car much), and the tram connections are solid if you want to venture further out. I did notice the check-in process was smooth – clear instructions, responsive host, none of that “sorry we’re running behind” drama you sometimes get with smaller places. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense to me; it’s not trying to be fancy, but it nails what it’s going for. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, look elsewhere, but if you want a genuinely comfortable base in Strasbourg that feels authentic rather than sanitized, this little studio delivers exactly that.

The room is small, but perfect. It's very clean, and has almost everything you'll need – apart from the washing machine. The location is excellent, close to a nice food court, and a big supermarket with a lot of excellent ready meals. The tram is nearby and reaching the centre (or the European Council) is very easy.
