Best Western Plus Hotel Villa D’est Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Best Western Plus Hotel Villa D’est on Rue Jacques Kablé, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The building has this elegant European charm that fits perfectly into Strasbourg‘s historic character — honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it blends into the neighborhood. This four-star property manages to feel both polished and welcoming, which isn’t always easy to pull off. The entrance has a sophisticated vibe without being intimidating, you know what I mean?
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciated about the location — you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in tourist crowds. The hotel sits in a quieter part of the city, which couples seem to absolutely love (and I can see why). You can actually walk to Strasbourg’s famous cathedral and Petite France district without much hassle, but when you come back in the evening, there’s this peaceful atmosphere that lets you unwind. The tram connections are solid too, so getting around the broader Alsace region is pretty straightforward if that’s on your agenda.
The Room Experience
My room was well-designed — not huge, but thoughtfully laid out in that European way where every square meter counts. The decor strikes a nice balance between modern comfort and regional touches, though nothing too heavy-handed. What impressed me most was the attention to details like good lighting and decent storage space. The bathroom was clean and functional, with a proper shower that actually had good water pressure. I mean, these things matter when you’re exploring a city all day and just want to refresh properly.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is actually quite impressive — they offer continental, American, and buffet options, plus they’ll do breakfast to go if you’re catching an early train or something. I went with the buffet most mornings and found a good mix of local Alsatian specialties alongside the usual international fare. The restaurant area has nice natural light, and the staff keeps everything well-stocked without hovering. Honestly, starting your day with proper coffee and some regional pastries while planning your Strasbourg adventures — it sets the right tone.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it balances professionalism with genuine hospitality. The staff knows their stuff about the local area and can point you toward the good wine bars or suggest which Christmas markets to hit (if you’re visiting in season). The hotel consistently earns high ratings because it delivers on the fundamentals while adding those little extras that make a difference. For couples especially, there’s something about the atmosphere here that just works — maybe it’s the quieter location or the way the common areas are designed, but it definitely has that romantic European city break vibe down pat. Plus, with parking available, you’ve got flexibility if you’re planning day trips into the Alsace wine country.
Visitors often choose Strasbourg apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent European capital.

A pleasant hotel whose staff particularly stands out. – Thomas from Finland – 30 August 2024 (9/10)
Very good! Our room was prepared early, and to our surprise we were given a superior room although we paid for a classic! Particularly the staff stands out with exquisite professionalism, and a pleasant, heartfelt presence that all employees seemed to share. The staff recommended spots to visit, and before check-out helped us find a place to weigh our luggage and booked a taxi for us, among other things. Breakfast was of relatively good quality; high volume and the range of products somewhat compensate the price of €16 per person. Excellent service during breakfast as well. The room was tidy.
A great place to stay in a nice neighborhood. – Oliver from United States – 10 June 2024 (8/10)
Clean and comfortable room. Nice staff.
What could be improved: A bit off the beaten path.
