Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Strasbourg, but this house on Rue Mélanie is honestly something else entirely. When I first walked up to number 74, I wasn’t expecting much – it’s this quiet residential street that most tourists never even notice. But then you step inside and suddenly you’ve got 200 square meters of space that actually feels like someone’s elegant home, not some sterile hotel room where everything’s bolted down.

The location is what really got me though. You know how everyone talks about staying “near the European Parliament” like it’s this great thing? Well, most of those places dump you in some bland business district where you’re eating overpriced sandwiches for dinner. This place is different – you’re close enough that you could walk to the Parliament in maybe fifteen minutes (I timed it), but you’re tucked away in this genuinely residential neighborhood where actual Strasbourg families live. There’s a boulangerie just around the corner on Rue de la Krutenau that locals line up at every morning, and honestly, watching that daily ritual from the house’s windows while having coffee was sort of perfect. The whole area goes quiet after about 9 PM, which means you’ll actually sleep – something I definitely can’t say about those hotels near the train station.

What surprised me most was how the space is laid out. It’s not trying to cram everything into tiny rooms like most city accommodations. The living areas are genuinely spacious (hence that 200m2, which isn’t marketing fluff), and there are these little touches that make you feel like you’re staying with a well-traveled friend rather than in some corporate property. The kitchen is actually functional – I mean, you could cook a real meal if you wanted to, not just heat up leftovers. And the bedrooms are positioned so you don’t hear street noise, though honestly Rue Mélanie is pretty peaceful anyway. I did notice the neighbors have a dog that barks occasionally in the early evening, but it’s more charming than annoying. The whole setup just works in a way that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Plus, and this matters if you’re driving, there’s actually decent parking in the area – not guaranteed, but way better odds than in the city center. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself making excuses to hang around the house rather than rushing out to see every tourist sight, which I guess is the point of a really good stay.

  Struttura localizzata in una bella zona residenziale di Strasburgo, ben collegata tramite mezzi al centro città.
  Ha un giardinetto delizioso e la casa è molto spaziosa, ordinata, pulita e luminosa.
  Io e il mio gruppo di amici ci siamo trovati benissimo e la consigliamo a tutti!
