Hotel Description

You know what surprised me most about Le Dome? It’s tucked away on Rue des Juifs – this narrow cobblestone street that feels like stepping back in time – but the apartments themselves are completely modern inside. I mean, the building has that classic Strasbourg half-timbered facade you see all over the old town, but once you get past the entrance, it’s all sleek lines and contemporary comfort. The location is honestly ridiculous in the best way possible. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the cathedral (and I actually timed it because I’m that kind of person), but here’s the thing locals know – you’re on the quiet side of all that tourist chaos. While everyone’s crowding around Place Kléber, you can slip down your little side street and feel like you’ve discovered some secret corner of the city.

The apartments themselves have this smart layout that actually makes sense, which isn’t always a given in these converted historic buildings. Full kitchens that aren’t just for show – I mean, you could legitimately cook a proper meal here, not just heat up croissants. The windows are double-glazed too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re this close to the cathedral bells (they ring every quarter hour, and honestly, it’s charming during the day but… well, you’ll get used to it). What I really appreciated was how they’ve kept some original touches – exposed beams here and there – without making it feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. Parking is going to be your biggest headache, but that’s true anywhere in this part of Strasbourg. There’s a public garage about five minutes away on foot, or if you’re lucky with timing, you might snag street parking on one of the slightly wider streets nearby.

The whole area comes alive differently depending when you visit. Summer evenings, you’ve got this perfect mix of locals heading to the wine bars on nearby streets and tourists doing their cathedral sunset photos. Winter is actually magical – fewer crowds, Christmas markets within walking distance, and something about those medieval streets covered in snow just works. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it’s not cutting corners either. If you want to feel like you’re living in Strasbourg rather than just visiting, and you appreciate being able to walk to everything that matters (Petite France, the EU quarter, all those Michelin-starred places everyone talks about), this is your spot. Just bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper – those cathedral bells are charming, but they’re also very, very punctual.

Reviews

  • Fantastic – Graeme from Australia – 19 July 2025 (9/10)

    Comfortable

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Michael from United States – 13 June 2025 (10/10)

    Excellent location

What could be improved: Head room is fine for average height folks. Taller ones might bump their head

  • Fabulous! – Georgina from United Kingdom – 6 June 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful apartment making our stay in Strasbourg very memorable. There is also a small lift. Location is perfect.

What could be improved: Glass to separate the bathrooms did not provide any privacy but does look great design wise.

  • Perfect location near Cathedral in center of old walkable Strasbourg. – Jeffrey from United States – 18 April 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location near Cathedral and walking distance to interesting streets of Strasbourg and Tram stop. Modern remodeling with good furnishings, large shower, and comfortable bedding.

What could be improved: Step stairs to upstairs sleeping and bathroom would be very difficult for mobility limited persons. Low sloped ceiling in upstairs bedroom requires caution when standing.

  • Superb – Peter from Hungary – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

Nice, clean, well equipped apartment at a great location, with a stunning (but tiny 😀) view. Flexible owner (no keys, only codes).

  • Central location everything nearby. – Michael from Germany – 4 March 2025 (10/10)

Downtown central to city exploration. Comfortable apartment. Great views out of all windows.

What could be improved: Cold when arrived.

  • A great stay though I didn’t sleep very well. – Christopher from Belgium – 26 December 2024 (9/10)

Amazing central location, spacious apartment. It was really great overall! Very cute (tiny) old lift.

What could be improved: I didn’t sleep very well – it may just be personal preference but I found the bed quite hard. It was also hard to manage temperature in the loft space where the bed is – if you have the windows open, you’ll be woken up at 7am by the cathedral bells.

  • Exceptional – Jemma from Australia – 17 December 2024 (10/10)

Amazing location and facilities. The sauna was excellent after a chilly evening at the Christmas market.

  • Enjoyed our stay very much – Grant from Australia – 7 December 2024 (8/10)

    Excellent location and good facilities

What could be improved: Unfortunately the sauna would not operate

  • Enjoyed our stay, excellent location and overall experience! – Sara from United States – 3 September 2024 (8/10)

The location was superb and very nicely designed.
Thank goodness for the AC as it would have been impossible to live without it. Spaces were interesting and smart TV a plus.

What could be improved: The lack of an elevator given the top floor location was a real bummer.
Very tricky staircase to the top bedroom.
