Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The name actually delivers – I mean, you really do get that cathedral view, and it’s not some tiny sliver you have to crane your neck to see. From the apartment windows, you’re looking right at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame with its incredible pink sandstone facade, especially gorgeous when the late afternoon light hits it just right.
The location on Avenue Léon Dacheux is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Strasbourg rather than just passing through. It’s this quiet residential street that locals actually use, but you’re still only about a ten-minute walk to Grande Île – that’s the historic center island where all the tourist action happens. I loved being able to duck out for fresh bread at the boulangerie around the corner (there’s a particularly good one on Rue du Faubourg National), then come back to make coffee and watch people heading to work from my window. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll see the same dog walker every morning and hear church bells marking the hours, but it never felt touristy or artificial.
Now, it’s a 3-star place with an 8.4 rating, which honestly feels about right – this isn’t luxury, but it’s thoughtfully done. The apartment itself feels more like staying in someone’s well-maintained second home than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen actually has proper cookware (not just a random assortment of bent pans), and there’s enough space to spread out if you’re staying more than a couple nights. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of Strasbourg – street parking fills up by evening, so I’d recommend asking about nearby options when you book. The area does get some tram noise during the day since Line A runs nearby, but it quiets down after 11 PM, and honestly, I found it kind of comforting – very European city soundtrack. One thing that really impressed me was how easy the check-in process was, and the host clearly knows the neighborhood well. They gave me specific recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots, like which evening to visit the cathedral (Wednesday nights when it’s beautifully lit but less crowded) and where to find good Alsatian wine that won’t break the budget. If you’re planning to explore beyond Strasbourg, the train station is easily reachable by tram, making day trips to Colmar or even across the border to Germany totally doable.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Strasbourg through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich Franco-German heritage.

Reviews
We enjoyed the apartment and the view, but a little tired with the stairs. – Linh from Vietnam – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
The house is super big and spacious. They have everything you need, from washing tools to cleaning tools. The room is very comfortable and with many window and a big balcony with great view.
What could be improved: There’s no elevator and the apartment is on the third floor (if you count the ground floor then the fourth) and the stairs is quite difficult to go up with large luggage.Superb – Janine from Turkey – 21 April 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful attic room. Nice location
Overall is a comfortable and quiet unit with nice interior design and ample natural light. – Jimmy from Canada – 28 March 2025 (9/10)
Location is walking distance to many amenities, e.g. bakery, grocery stores, and public transits. Street parking is inexpensive and easy to find a spot. Lots of natural light due to many windows, especially the view of dinning room.
What could be improved: The inclining roof limited usable space. Always have to be cautious about hit on the roof. No exhausted fan in the kitchen. Have to open the windows when cook.A lovely place to stay ..despite the tricky stairs to climb – Ian from United Kingdom – 25 June 2025 (9/10)
Such a calm gentle neighborhood and the very nearby brewpub/cafe was enjoyable and charming (Cafe Grognon). The apartment is spacious and well laid out even though it is high up in the roof-space.
What could be improved: The bedding materials are not so comfortable in the warmer weather. Cotton would be lovely :))Exceptional – Cornea from South Africa – 8 July 2025 (10/10)
Clean and modern! Amazing little place!
Very good – Françoise from France – 30 June 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: La cage d'escalier a besoin sérieusement de rénovation.
Sinon, tout okBon séjour – Stephane from France – 2 April 2025 (7/10)
Appartement agréable, propriétaire accessible et aimable, il faudrait juste un accompagnement :mode d’emploi des équipements (chauffage et TV
Very good – Robert from Germany – 6 June 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Der Gastgeber konnte weder Deutsch noch Englisch
Großes Appartement mit kleinen Macken – Anastasia33 from Germany – 16 April 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: Das Badezimmer ist etwas eng, keine Ablagefläche vorhanden. Generell war die Sauberkeit verbesserungswürdig.Good – Daniele from Italy – 17 February 2025 (7/10)
La parte living era molto accogliente e spaziosa, e un bel balcone.
What could be improved: La pulizia purtroppo, abbiamo trovato delle molliche sul tavolo, a terra, peli nelle lenzuola, e i piatti lavati ma sporchi.
