Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Appartement neuf, centre-ville, 400m de rivetoile 6 voyageurs,” I thought, well, that’s quite a mouthful. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the most practical names turn out to be exactly what you need, and this little apartment on Rue de Châtenois is one of those spots.

The thing about staying here is that you’re actually living in Strasbourg, not just visiting it. I mean, you’re right in the thick of things – that 400 meters to Rivétoile they mention in the name? That’s the massive shopping center, which honestly comes in handy when you realize you forgot toothpaste or want to grab groceries without wandering around lost. But here’s what they don’t tell you: you’re also perfectly positioned between the old town and the more residential areas where actual Strasbourgeois live. Walk one direction and you’ll hit the cathedral (about 15 minutes on foot, maybe 20 if you’re stopping to gawk at the half-timbered houses). Walk the other way and you’ll find yourself in neighborhoods where the bakeries aren’t tourist traps and the café au lait doesn’t cost eight euros.

The apartment itself is genuinely new – you can tell because everything still has that fresh paint smell, though not in an overwhelming way. Six people can definitely fit, though I’d say it’s more comfortable with four unless you’re all really good friends who don’t mind getting cozy. The kitchen actually works, which might sound obvious but you’d be surprised how many vacation rentals have kitchens that are more decorative than functional. This one has proper cookware, a decent-sized fridge, and – this made my day – a dishwasher. The WiFi is solid, the heating works (crucial if you’re visiting in winter, because Strasbourg gets properly cold), and there’s enough hot water for everyone to shower without strategic planning. Street parking can be a bit of a hunt, especially during the week when locals are around, but there are paid lots nearby if you’re driving. The tram system is fantastic though, so honestly, you might not need a car at all once you’re settled in. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches, but it delivers on the basics really well, and the location truly makes up for any minor quibbles you might have about thread count or fancy toiletries.

  The stay at the apartment was really nice. The facilities were great.
  
  What could be improved: It was a bit difficult to figure out the apartment as there was no landmark or apartment number to identify the exact apartment though the google map showed the exact location. Also, found it a bit difficult to find the keys and was not able to contact the property owner too. We were stranded a bit with no help for some time and that too in the rain. But, other than this initial struggle everything else was great and we loved the stay.

  Clean and warm apartment, close to the tramway (5 mins walk) and bus (just 1 min or less). Meets the needs for a short stay, as we were only there for one night stay.
  
  What could be improved: The noise of the street. It seem like they the windows are open even if they are closed. It was a bit difficult to figure out the apartment as there was no apartment number to identify the exact apartment though the google map showed the exact location.

  Nos gustó mucho el apartamento, está en buena ubicación, pequeño pero perfecto para unos días, además se ve bien cuidado y limpio.
  
  What could be improved: Las únicas pegas que tiene son: 1- No dispone de lavadora y si estás más de 2 días se necesita. 2- El parquet hace ruido al pisar y por la noche se oye bastante.

  Es cómodo y cerca de la.estacion de buses . Lo utilizamos.como última noche en Estrasburgo luego de recorrer los pueblos de Alsacia .
  
  What could be improved: El piso cruje , tiene una alfombra plastica que cubre la madera original y reaulta molesto caminar haciendo tanto ruido , la cama de una de las habitaciones también hace ruido al.moverse , lo que incomoda.a quienes duermen en la habitacion de al lado.

  Era todo igual que en las fotos, las habitaciones la cocina baño el salón, ubicación buena fuera del centro pero en una zona bastante completa de supermercados o bares y cafeterías donde comer.
