The Route d’Altenheim location might not sound familiar if you’re not from around here, but honestly, it’s one of those spots that locals appreciate because you’re far enough from the tourist chaos of Petite France yet still totally connected to everything that matters.

What I really love about staying here is how it sits in this residential pocket of Strasbourg where you’ll hear actual French conversations drifting from café terraces instead of constant camera clicks. The apartment setup means you’ve got proper space to spread out – there’s a kitchen that’s actually functional (not just a sad mini-fridge situation), and the living area doesn’t feel cramped like most city accommodations. The modern furnishings work well, though I’ll be honest, the aesthetic leans pretty heavily into that Scandinavian-influenced style that’s everywhere these days. But it’s done thoughtfully, you know? The lighting is warm enough that you won’t feel like you’re living in an IKEA showroom.

Getting around from here is surprisingly easy once you figure out the tram connections – the nearest stop connects you straight into the city center, and you can reach the cathedral area in maybe fifteen minutes. What’s really nice is that you’re close enough to walk to some excellent neighborhood bistros that most visitors never discover. I stumbled across this amazing tarte flambée place just a few blocks away that’s become my go-to recommendation for anyone staying in the area. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to Strasbourg, right?), but the host provides decent guidance, and honestly, once you’re settled, you probably won’t need your car much anyway. The 8.1 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being flashy, and those small touches like quality linens and a coffee machine that doesn’t taste like plastic really do make a difference when you’re settling in for more than just a night or two.

  The host Nader was amazing he went above and beyond to make our stay amazing, wonderful, and comfortable. Wonderful man with a Wonderful property to enjoy Strasbourg if you are going to visit. The bus outside the apartment runs straight into the city and nice to be a little outside the main centre.

  Moderne Wohnung, Bad, Küche neu. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Alles sauber. Klopapier sowie küchenpapier vorhanden. Sogar kaffekapslen ! 😍
  
  What could be improved: Zu wenig Handtücher. Messer in der Küche war nicht vorhanden oder ich habe es nicht finden können. Kein Kleiderschrank um Sachen aufzuhängen oder wenigstens Regal, wir mussten alles im Koffer lassen.
