You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I stepped onto that terrace and saw the view stretching across Strasbourg’s rooftops toward the cathedral spires – I mean, the photos online really don’t do it justice. This apartment sits right on Rue la Fayette, which honestly isn’t the most charming street name-wise, but the location is actually pretty smart. You’re close enough to walk into Petite France in about fifteen minutes, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night.

The apartment itself feels genuinely modern without being sterile, if that makes sense. Everything’s been updated recently – the kitchen has proper appliances (not those tiny European fridges that barely hold a bottle of wine), and the bathroom actually has decent water pressure, which I’ve learned not to take for granted in older French buildings. The whole place has this clean, minimalist vibe that works really well with those big windows. During my stay in early October, I’d make coffee in the morning and just sit out on the terrace watching the city wake up – there’s something pretty magical about seeing the mist lift off the Ill River from up there. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which mattered since I was working remotely for part of the trip.

What I really appreciated was how the owner clearly knows what travelers actually need. There’s proper storage space (you’d be surprised how many vacation rentals skimp on this), blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this is key – the heating works properly. I visited during shoulder season when the weather was unpredictable, and being able to control the temperature made a huge difference. The neighborhood has a good mix of locals and visitors, so you’ll find both touristy spots and places where Strasbourg residents actually eat. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks down that opens early, and if you walk toward the university area, you’ll hit some great little bistros that don’t show up in guidebooks. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but there are options nearby if you’re driving. Honestly, though, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need a car much – the tram system here is excellent, and walking through the old town never gets old. The 8.4 rating feels about right to me – it’s a solid, comfortable place with that view being the real standout feature, though don’t expect luxury hotel amenities or anything fancy.

  The apartment itself was very clean, quite modern with a good kitchen and a modern bathroom, we also had a small balcony and the bed was very comfortable to sleep on.
  
  What could be improved: What we did not like about the property was the location and the parking. We were disappointed to find the apartment was located in a business complex, which we did not realise on booking and the parking the worst we have had, on a vacant block of land adjacent to the complex, full of potholes and constantly being used by numerous cars within the community, so very noisy and sometimes we could not get a park. Also the only working lift to the upper floors of the complex was old, dimly lit and very much in need of a service!

  Квартира чистая , для трех человек удобная. До центра 4 остановки на трамвае, очень удобно. 13 евро за трех человек платишь и 24 часа катаешься куда хочешь. Парковка огромная и бесплатная.
