Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually in one of those narrow medieval streets that tourists usually just walk past on their way to the cathedral – Rue du Vieil-Hôpital sounds fancy, but honestly, it’s this perfectly quiet cobblestone street that somehow missed all the souvenir shop madness. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Place Kléber, but it feels like you’ve discovered some local secret.
The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious – 77 square meters translates to actual room to breathe, which is rare in Strasbourg’s old town. The owners clearly put thought into making it feel like a proper home rather than just another rental. There’s this lovely mix of exposed beams (the real deal, not fake ones) with modern touches that actually work together. The kitchen’s well-equipped enough that I ended up cooking a few meals with ingredients from the Saturday market at Place du Marché aux Poissons – it’s about a seven-minute walk, and honestly, starting your day there beats any hotel breakfast buffet. The living area gets beautiful afternoon light, and I spent way too much time just sitting by the windows watching locals go about their day.
What really makes this place special though is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re on the edge of Petite France without dealing with the tour group crowds, and the Ill river is right there if you want to walk along the water in the evenings. Parking can be tricky (it’s Strasbourg, after all), but there’s actually a public garage about five minutes away that’s not too expensive by city standards. The street itself is quiet at night – I was worried about noise since European city centers can get rowdy, but the only sounds you’ll hear are maybe some late diners heading home or the occasional delivery truck in the early morning. Check-in was smooth, and the hosts left this thoughtful little guide with actual useful recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. They mentioned this wine bar called Le Tire-Bouchon that’s become my new obsession – it’s tucked away on a side street you’d never find on your own. The whole experience just felt authentic, like staying in a friend’s place rather than some sterile accommodation. At a 9.5 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for other travelers too, and I can see why.
Visitors often choose Strasbourg apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent European capital.

What could be improved: Nothing for us as a family but limited privacy among two bedrooms for two coupleHighly recommend- perfect location & great apartment! – Sharratt from Australia – 17 December 2023 (10/10)
The apartment was perfect for our week stay in Strasbourg. A wonderful location centrally located near Christmas markets and the cathedral and easy to jump on trams to explore the city if not on foot. Strasbourg was so busy when we were there so it was a great apartment to be able to take respite from the people and pop back for during the day! Highly recommend!
Beautiful and comfortable apartment in a great location – Karen from United States – 1 August 2023 (10/10)
We very much enjoyed our four week stay here. Christiane, the owner, is extremely nice and met us when we arrived (even though our train was late and we had to push back our arrival time). The property is lovely and in a great location – even though it is steps from the cathedral and facing a very active street, the back entrance is quiet and the windows completely block outside noise when closed. The wifi works very well. There is an air conditioner unit which helps, but can't really keep up when it is extremely hot; but that is common in France. Although some reviews have said that you have to go through one bedroom to reach the other, that is not correct; both bedrooms have two entrances. I would definitely stay there again!
It was great – Clarissa from United States – 10 June 2025 (8/10)
Location was amazing.
Charming decor- a lot of thought put into that.
Loved opening the windows and enjoying the view
So many food options just steps away.
What could be improved: Items below have only to do with my own personal preference- not the place itself.
Very tough getting used to the very hard European beds
A lot of fans provided but it was quite hot- due to no air conditioningVery good – Castiglioni from Uruguay – 31 December 2023 (8/10)
El lugar, los espacios, la decoración
Superb – Aranzazu from Spain – 10 December 2023 (9/10)
Bien aclimatado.
Appartement 1ere classe – Frederic from France – 27 February 2023 (9/10)
