Look, when I first walked up to this apartment on Rue des Frères, I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from the street view. It’s one of those narrow Strasbourg side streets that looks pretty unremarkable until you actually get inside. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes this place special.

The location is honestly ridiculous in the best way possible. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the cathedral – and I’m talking about that moment when you turn the corner and BAM, there’s that incredible Gothic masterpiece just sitting there like it’s no big deal. The thing is, most tourists don’t realize how perfect this little pocket of the city center is. You’re close enough to everything that matters (the cathedral, Petite France, all those winding cobblestone streets), but Rue des Frères itself is actually pretty quiet. I was worried about noise since it’s so central, but honestly, once you’re inside, it feels surprisingly peaceful – especially in the evenings when the day-trippers head back to their buses.

The apartment itself has that authentic Alsatian character you can’t fake. We’re talking exposed beams, those thick walls that keep things cool in summer, and windows that look out onto the kind of narrow street scene that makes you feel like you’re in a postcard. The setup is practical too – proper kitchen where you can actually cook (which you’ll want to do after hitting the morning markets), and the bathroom is modern enough that you don’t feel like you’re roughing it. I actually loved being able to grab fresh bread from the boulangerie around the corner and make coffee in the morning instead of hunting for overpriced hotel breakfast. There’s something really satisfying about starting your day like a local, you know?

What really sold me on this place was how it strikes that perfect balance – you get the independence and space of having your own place, but you’re staying in a building that’s clearly been part of this neighborhood for ages. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be fancy or flashy, it’s just genuinely comfortable and well-located. Plus, and this is key for Strasbourg, you can walk everywhere. The tram stops are close if you need them, but honestly, I barely used public transport because everything worth seeing is right there within walking distance. Even the train station is only about fifteen minutes on foot if you don’t mind a little stroll through the city center – which, let’s face it, is half the fun of being in Strasbourg anyway.

  Great location, walking distance to pretty much everything, clean, heating works well. We were silly and were on the wrong floor, and the host quickly assisted us via phone, very responsive.

  What could be improved: It's visible that a bed was broken and fixed, therefore it's not very comfortable, mattresses are on the different level. Bathroom doors also should be fixed.

  L'appartement est situé dans un emplacement central idéal. Tout équipé. Il est au 4 ème niveau sans ascenseur. Plutôt physique mais si on n'a pas de problème de santé, ils se montent facilement.
