Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I stepped onto that balcony and realized I was basically perched above one of Strasbourg’s most charming squares – Place Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune – watching locals duck into the Gothic church below while sipping my morning coffee. I mean, the apartment itself is lovely (clean, well-appointed, everything you’d expect from a solid 4-star setup), but honestly, it’s that balcony that’ll make you want to cancel your dinner reservations and just stay put with a bottle of Alsatian wine.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re right in the thick of things but somehow insulated from the touristy chaos that can swallow up Grande Île during peak season. I could walk to the cathedral in maybe eight minutes – though I kept getting distracted by the bakeries along Rue des Grandes Arcades (there’s this one with the most incredible kougelhopf that locals line up for around 9 AM). The tram stops are close enough to be useful but far enough that you won’t hear them rumbling by at dawn. Parking was… well, it’s city center parking, so prepare yourself mentally and financially for that adventure. But once you’re settled in, you really don’t need a car – everything worth seeing is walkable, and the host provided surprisingly good recommendations for spots that weren’t crawling with tour groups.

What really impressed me was how the apartment managed to feel both authentically Strasbourgeois and genuinely comfortable for modern travelers. The windows are these gorgeous old things that actually open properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and you can hear the church bells marking the hours – which sounds romantic until you realize they really do chime every hour, including at night. Light sleepers might want earplugs, though honestly, after a day of wandering the Petite France district and sampling way too much charcuterie, I slept right through them. The kitchen was better stocked than I expected, which came in handy when I grabbed fresh bread and cheese from the Saturday market at Place du Marché aux Poissons (just a few blocks away). The whole setup just works – it’s the kind of place where you can live like a local for a few days instead of feeling like you’re camping out in someone else’s space.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Strasbourg through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich Franco-German heritage.

  • Central location, very nice apartment – Mari from Estonia – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

This apartment is in the centre of Strasbourg, but in a quiet area. Train station is max 15 min away (on foot), closest shop (Monoprix) that is open late hours and also Sundays, is 5 min away. Apartment is in a good condition and quite comfortable. Toiletries, towels, hair dryer etc are of high quality. Kitchen provides all what is necessary for coking, but also spices, coffe etc. There is a water kettle, capsule coffee machine, toaster, microwave as well. WiFi works well. Balcony opens to quiet courtyard with afternoon sun and is very nice for enjoying the weather (there is also roof, so protection from elements).
Host is most helpful with flexible checkin times and also advice.

What could be improved: Shower was somewhat weird as I never figured out how to stop tap running the same time as shower. Due to the fact that windows are facing courtyard, it is somewhat dark in the apartment, but mostly people do not stay indoors at daytimes I guess when travelling.

  • Lovely apartment with everything needed for a short stay in the heart of old Strasbourg – Garrett from United Kingdom – 11 October 2024 (9/10)

Centrally placed for exploring old town; quiet, comfortable modern apartment with everything we needed for a short stay. Super helpful host.

What could be improved: Hand held shower fitting didn't extend long enough for a tall person.

  • Exceptional – Kristina from Russia – 5 December 2024 (10/10)

Everything was perfect. The apartment was brand new and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The host was very nice and did his best to accommodate the guests. Thank you for such a pleasant stay

What could be improved: The apartment is ideal for two people. The sofa can accommodate a third person, but it’s best suited for short stays of 1-3 nights
