Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s actually a proper apartment, not just some hotel room pretending to be homey. When I first walked into this three-room setup on Rue des Balayeurs, I mean, it felt like staying at a friend’s place in Strasbourg – if your friend happened to have really good taste and kept everything spotless.

The Krutenau neighborhood is honestly one of those areas that locals love but tourists somehow miss. You’re tucked away from the cathedral crowds, but still walking distance to everything that matters. I’d wake up to the sound of people heading to work along the cobblestones – not jarring traffic, just that gentle morning rhythm you get in old European quarters. The private parking was a lifesaver, and I’m not exaggerating here – finding a spot in Strasbourg’s city center is basically a blood sport. Having your own designated space means you can actually relax instead of circling blocks like a vulture every time you come back from day trips to the wine villages.

What really sold me on the place was how it struck this perfect balance between being genuinely comfortable and still feeling authentically Strasbourgeois. The apartment has enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage (something I definitely can’t say about most city center accommodations), and there’s this lived-in warmth that you just don’t get in sterile hotel chains. The kitchen actually works – I made coffee every morning and even picked up some local cheese and bread from the market near Place du Marché aux Poissons, maybe a ten-minute walk away. Honestly, that became my favorite routine. The whole area comes alive in the mornings, with vendors setting up and the smell of fresh pastries drifting from the boulangeries. You’ll find yourself taking the long way back just to soak it all in. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve spent a few days here – it’s the kind of place where small thoughtful touches add up. Good water pressure, windows that actually block street noise when you need sleep, and enough electrical outlets that you’re not playing musical chairs with your devices. I mean, these things shouldn’t be remarkable, but after staying in enough European city apartments, you learn to appreciate when someone gets the basics right.

Reviews

  • Private Parking and Large Living Space – Robert from United States – 9 May 2025 (10/10)

Great facility if parking is needed, including multiple parking slots and a garage. The 10 Euro fee per stay for parking was reasonable. Not too far from center of city. About 30 minutes walk into Petite France. Large space accomodates families well.

What could be improved: No air conditioning. One of the two bedrooms faced the street. Narrow stairs up one floor to the rooms.

  • Incredible value in Strasbourg – Craig from Australia – 25 April 2025 (10/10)

The location was ideal, close to everything we wanted. The apartment itself was incredible value, two large bedrooms and a good sized lounge room. Very clean with modern facilities throughout.

What could be improved: There’s nothing to dislike.

  • Perfect stay—clean, convenient, family-friendly, with great parking and a short walk to the center! – Eleni from Greece – 27 January 2025 (10/10)

We had an amazing stay here! The apartment had everything we needed for our family, and the parking was super convenient. The place was really clean, and the location was perfect—just a short walk to the center. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great apartment in a great location. – June from United Kingdom – 14 December 2024 (9/10)

The location was great for us as we headed to the river for our cruise the following day although it wasn't too much of a walk into the centre of Strasbourg and we like walking. However It was close to the trams too. It was surprisingly quiet and the option for secure parking is really speaking for my brother in law who is driving this way next year so he may book it then.

  • Great stay, highly recommend – Dejan from Belgium – 1 December 2024 (10/10)

Location was perfect, easy to get everywhere on foot. Apartment was great, spacious, clean… everything was excellent. Check in was easy, parking is available as stated. Beds are super comfortable.

What could be improved: Everything was as described and better.

  • Superb – Doroteya from Bulgaria – 25 October 2024 (9/10)

The flat is nice and cosy. 2 separate bedrooms, comfortable beds. Well equipped with everything one might need even for a longer stay. Very close to tram stops, bars and places to eat. Within a walking distance from the city center.
A parking space in the backyard if you need one.

What could be improved: There was no light in the yard. If you come home in the dark you need a flashlight after you enter the gate.

  • Great location and value for money. – Ken from New Zealand – 16 September 2024 (9/10)

Breakfast not an option but adequate kitchen facilities. Location was away from the busy town, but within easy walking distance and restaurants/bars close by. A lovely spacious apartment with 2 bedrooms, a lounge , separate kitchen and even laundry vacilities.

What could be improved: all good
