You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s tucked away on Rue du Faubourg-de-Pierre, which honestly sounds way fancier than it actually is – but that’s exactly what makes it work. I mean, you’re literally staying in someone’s neighborhood apartment on the third floor (no elevator, just so you know), and there’s something genuinely refreshing about that after all those cookie-cutter hotel experiences.

The thing about this spot is the location actually makes perfect sense once you get your bearings. Faubourg de Pierre is one of those areas where real Strasbourg people live, not just tourists snapping photos of the cathedral. You’ve got the Parc de l’Orangerie about a ten-minute walk north – I’d hit the little café there most mornings because, well, the apartment setup means you can make your own coffee, but sometimes you just want someone else to do it, right? And getting into the old town is stupidly easy; you can walk it in maybe fifteen minutes, or catch the tram if you’re feeling lazy. What I loved is coming back in the evenings when the tourists have cleared out and you’re just walking through actual residential streets where people are walking their dogs and picking up groceries.

The apartment itself is proper three rooms – not some studio they’re trying to pass off as spacious. The furnishing is… look, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works and it’s clean, which honestly matters more when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights. The windows face the street, so there’s some noise during the day (delivery trucks, the occasional heated conversation in rapid-fire French), but it dies down pretty reasonably at night. I actually liked the street sounds – felt more authentic than those hermetically sealed hotel rooms where you forget what city you’re in. The kitchen setup is basic but functional if you want to grab stuff from the Monoprix down the street and not eat out every single meal. Oh, and heads up – the shower pressure is decent, but the hot water takes a minute to kick in, so don’t panic if it starts cold.

What really sold me on this place is that 8.2 rating feels about right. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t – no fancy lobby, no concierge in a uniform, no turndown service. But you get a genuine slice of living in Strasbourg rather than just visiting it. The check-in was straightforward (though coordinate your arrival time because someone needs to actually be there), and honestly, for a three-star place, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re the type who needs room service and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’ve got your own little corner of Strasbourg for a few days, with easy access to both the touristy bits and the real neighborhoods, this works really well.

  Bel accueil du propriétaire, l’appartement est propre, il y avait tout ce qu’il nous fallait pour passer de belles vacances à 4 en familles. L’emplacement est idéal avec à proximité la gare, le centre commercial des halles, le centre ville, les restaurants, la laverie, … Et tout ça à pied !

  Buena ubicación, cercano a la estación y del centro de la ciudad. Apartamento amplio, seguro y con todo lo necesario.
  
  What could be improved: Reservé por una noche y el host me pidió cancelar, ya que como mínimo aceptaba dos noches (Booking no alertó antes de reservar). Tuvimos que hacer la hora para poder hacer el check in, porque el anfitrión tenía un compromiso. El baño estaba separado, por una parte ducha y lavamanos y en otra habitación el inodoro.
