Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked into this apartment on Rue de Bouxwiller, it actually felt like someone’s really nice home rather than another cookie-cutter hotel room. I mean, we’re talking about a proper apartment here – not just a bed and a tiny bathroom crammed together. The space has this lived-in elegance that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

The location is honestly pretty brilliant, though you might not realize it at first glance. Rue de Bouxwiller isn’t one of those tourist-packed streets where you’re dodging selfie sticks every five minutes, but you’re still ridiculously close to everything that matters in Strasbourg. I could walk to the cathedral in about fifteen minutes – and trust me, that morning stroll through the quieter residential streets before the city wakes up is something special. Plus, and this is huge for anyone who’s driven through Strasbourg’s maze of one-way streets, the free parking actually works. Not “sort of free with seventeen conditions” parking, but genuinely hassle-free spots that don’t require a degree in French parking regulations to figure out.

What really sold me on this place was all the little details that show someone actually thinks about what travelers need. The kitchen isn’t just for show – it’s got proper cookware, which came in handy when I grabbed fresh bread and cheese from the morning market at Place du Marché aux Poissons (about a ten-minute walk away). The Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously disappear every time more than two people try to use it, and honestly, after staying in places where the shower pressure feels like a gentle mist, having water that actually rinses shampoo out of your hair felt like luxury. The apartment stays surprisingly quiet too, even though you’re right in the city – those old French buildings know how to keep street noise where it belongs. I will say the check-in process requires a bit more coordination than just walking up to a front desk, but the host was pretty responsive and the whole keyless entry thing worked smoothly once I figured it out. If you’re the type who likes having someone to call down to for extra towels at midnight, this might not be your speed, but if you prefer having your own space without feeling like you’re living in a hotel bubble, this place gets it right.

Reviews

  • Exceptional – Erin from United States – 10 June 2025 (10/10)

    Clean and easy to utilize.

  • Handy and clean but probably best for a couple only, not two couples. Good value for money. – Martin from Australia – 28 April 2025 (9/10)

Value for money, close to old town. Instructions were ok for entrance

What could be improved: We struggled to get the oven and induction stove to work. The instructions for the carpark were not very clear.

  • Exceptional – Burçin from Turkey – 19 February 2025 (10/10)

The location was a short walk away from the city center, it was okay for us. We really liked the apartment's cosy atmosphere, the decoration and the layout. It was easy to get in with the codes and everything were made ready for us, it was really clean. Especially the shower toilet was the highlight for us, as people coming from Turkey and give importance to hygiene 🙂

What could be improved: Everything was in line with what we expected.

  • Good price and the owner was very helpfull – Tom from United Kingdom – 12 February 2025 (9/10)

    Very well equipped nice layout

What could be improved: Nothing really

  • Great French styling, comfortable, decent location. – Joshua from United States – 25 December 2024 (9/10)

My wife thought it was super cute. The facilities had everything you needed, including coffee, pots and pans, etc., plenty of towels and the amenities while traveling. It also had private parking not far from the apartment. The host was very quick to communicate via the app.

What could be improved: It was a little difficult to find the apartment and the stairwell to the apartment was dark.

  • A lovely and modern apartment with many amenities and close to the train station – Shannon from United States – 19 December 2024 (9/10)

This apartment is modern and beautiful with thoughtful decorations and a well-stocked kitchen with a variety of spices, etc. It’s very cozy overall and not far from the train station. The hostess left cookies and wine, a lovely touch! The bathroom was especially big and luxurious with a bidet! We would stay here again.

What could be improved: The mattress in the front left bedroom needs replacing and wasn’t comfortable. The apartment was a little too far from the town center for our group because of mobility issues, so we mainly used Uber. The radiator heat was also restricted from 22:00 to 6:00, so I would often wake up cold in the middle of the night in one of the bedrooms that didn’t have an additional electrical heating/cooling system.

  • Beautifully apartment, great location – Alan from United Kingdom – 12 December 2024 (10/10)

Beautifully decorated and excellent location. Beds were comfortable and the cot for the baby was brilliant. Plenty of amenities.

What could be improved: No negatives other than the trains start honking horns occasionally after 7am which woke us up until we were used to it.

  • We Love Strasbourg and this apartment is great but could be better. – Catherine from Guernsey – 17 October 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is very well decorated and comfortable. The parking space is an asset.

What could be improved: The communal area is not lit up so we had to use a torch to go up the stairs and find the apartment. The apartment is great but poorly lit up as they were some bulbs missing in the lounge, however lights came up automatically in the bedroom in the middle of the night. The master shower spurts up from the top over the shower screen into the toilet area. The balcony is dirty. The parking area is welcome but not secure as the gate does not work. Finally, the message at 7 in the morning stating we had to leave by 11 seemed a little aggressive . This could be a fantastic place but needs a bit of tweaking.

  • Good and very clean apartment. – Fabiana from Germany – 14 October 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is very nice, clean and well organized.

What could be improved: The building is really old and I was not aware of it looking at the pictures. But inside the apartment is exactly how described.

  • Exceptional – Chris from United Kingdom – 3 August 2024 (10/10)

    Beautifully presented
